Stopped for lunch here! It was a pleasant surprise. Food quality and taste were top-notch. Amazing food. If there is an opportunity to come here, I will visit here for food again. Highly recommend.

We ordered a steak with a caesar salad and a crab with a caesar salad. The steak was great. Both caesar salads had fish in it which was not stated in the menu and the crab was cold and tasted stale. If it was stated in the menu that there is a fish in the Caesar salads we wouldn?t have ordered it.The manager?s main concern was that we payed for the crab and the caesar salads, and she was not concerned from the fact that in their menu there was no mention of a fish anywhere in the ingredients. We had to ask her to leave and stop defending herself and let us finish the food that was edible. We decided to pay, to make them happy instead of ruining their evening like they ruined ours. Some hospitality can go a long way.

Visted during a recent trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. The pub is wonderful. Great service from friendly staff and wonderful lcoation. Despite seeming remote the bar had a vast range of drinks with plenty of ciders & whisky to try - I wish we'd had longer than an hour! Good tasty pub grub too.

Jumped on the steam train at Ravenglass to Eskdale and come in for some food. Ordered the csjun wrap, prawn sandwich on brown and the sausages off the children's menu. Every meal has been exceptional. Highly recommend for food. Staff are lovely and dog friendly to.

This is a lovely Inn. We had lunch which was served promptly and very tasty it was. There were two cask ales on and local brewery ales. Been a few times before and will go again in yhe future.

Such a lovely place with a varied, interesting menu and many options for people whose diet can make it tricky to eat out. One of the most impressive aspects was the comprehensive list of allergens which made it possible to navigate the menu. The pub itself is in a glorious location in the heart of the Lake District at the end of the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway and we could hear the toot of the steam train in the background. The staff were delightfully helpful and the service was excellent. When the food came, we were all very impressed with what we'd chosen and are planning another visit to sample other dishes! All in all, a lovely trip out.

Try anywhere but here. The stench of rude behaviour, eye-rolling, monumental sighs and sarcastic muttering beggars belief. Could have been a panto only there was no laughter and lightness. It was just terribly juvenile. Do not go there.

The service was ok but the food was overpriced and there was very little. Ordered the Cumberland sausage but only one sausage came. Also wouldn?t recommend the pie because they only served a tiny slice of soggy pie. Food was very expensive but came dry

Stopped for lunch and we?re not disappointed. Lovely food, good range a beers, with excellent service. We look forward too our next visit.Doggy friendly bar.Unfortunately I can?t rate the rooms as we haven?t stayed there because they?re not able to accommodate dogs in the rooms.Nearby activities: Only a short walk from the ravensglass to eskdale miniature railway.Walkability: Right on the doorstep to some of the most spectacular scenery in the lakes.Food & drinks: First class food, good portions which are well presented. Excellent range of local beers on tap.

Walk on by. Better yet run past. Rude beyond words is a polite description of the service behind the counter. Lots of sarcastic muttering, eye rolling, theatrical level sighing. Most inns sell you your food and drink; this one slathers on drama and innuendo. So you had 5 possible sales and ended up with just the one hapless enough to order before the odor of rudeness overpowered the rest of us.
