Further to my review written 8 months ago, see further down, I wanted to review the boarding service which I have now used numerous times.
I've used the service several times this year, the latest being for a month, and have been so pleased.
Mandy & Rose are very happy to follow any care requests to ensure a smooth transition from home to boarding. They were very good because I did go rather overboard with the detail, having typed out 2 pages of them! Rose carefully read through it all checking and discussing with me what I had written.
Throughout their month stay I was sent WhatsApp images and videos. The first was to check that I was happy with their cage layout of their hideys etc.(yes, I'd even written the position of the litter tray etc!!) Then further ones of them happily settled in their cage, enjoying the run or on Rose's knee having a fuss.
If you are using fleece liners etc in you piggie cage this can continue during their stay.
Vegetables and hay are included, you just supply the nuggets and any extra treats etc.
(You can supply your own hay though if you wish to should you have a fussy eater who likes a particular type etc).
As the piggies were with Mandy for a month they were weighed weekly to ensure they were maintaining their normal weight.
If piggies have some sorts of health issues they can quickly go down hill if you're not 'on the ball' monitoring them. With Mandy's many years of experience, I had no doubt that any issues would be promptly noticed and dealt with as required.
Thank you lovely Mandy, Rose & Tilly. It's great being able to go on holiday without having to worry how they are.

I visited this lovely pet shop prior to getting a couple of guinea pigs as I wanted to ask about keeping them correctly etc
Mandy has an excellent knowledge. Not only that but she was so friendly, as are the other staff, and easy to talk to.
When I went to collect my baby piggies I was given plenty of time to choose them. I was also given a reminder to ensure I knew how to look after them.
On leaving I was told to contact her if I had any further questions or any concerns at all.
Unfortunately, after only a couple of days one piggy was limping badly, probably from zooming around the large cage to enthusiastically!
I took piggy to the vets for treatment and, coincidently, I'd just got back when Mandy contacted me to check that all was going well.
She very kindly lent me a small cage to restrict the piggies to ensure the leg wasn't used much whilst it healed. This was a huge help.
She continued to keep in touch to check up on how the leg was. It was great to know that she gave this support at this worrying time. (It all healed in a week)
Another big plus is that Mandy also offers boarding for whenever we want to go away from home. As I'm so confident that my piggies will be well cared for I can leave them without any concerns.

We bought 2 rats from Little Beasties. Mandy was brilliant throughout the whole process, from ensuring we had the right set up for them, to socialising them before we picked them up. They are settling in so well and are fantastic pets and I believe this is due to the fact Mandy and her staff have spent plenty of time handling them. I would definitely recommend using Little Beasties as they really care about animal welfare and are happy to be contacted after the purchase of a pet for advice.

The only independent pet shop left in South Cumbria. They sell a range of small animals like fish, rodents, birds and reptiles. The owner is very knowledgeable particularly about rabbits as they run a rabbit and rehoming charity next door. They sell a range of cages, dry goods, food, etc for the pets they sell and more.

local ran and very friendly staff, went in to buy fish but the kids loved seeing the other animals in the shop too. very helpful and the staff spent time to teach the kids about the fish they were buying

Boarded my canaries at this wonderful pet/rehoming shop, felt confident in leaving my birds here with the lovely helpful staff.. I have no qualms in recommending and will look forward to boarding my birds again!
