The pizzas are totally amazing, the triple cooked cooked chips are next level . The bar staff are gorgeous and the locals are chatty. Defo be back.

What a fantastic pub. Great, classic aesthetic, friendly staff and the food looked great.
2 cask lines but both supporting Legendary Cumbrian Ales which is great to see. Really well priced
Nice amount of outdoor seating - this one is certainly added to my favourite pubs ?

We stayed for 2 nights at a cost of £360 and so were expecting a reasonable quality experience.
Despite a disappointing first impression (the outside is pretty run down) we were still hopeful.
Unfortunately our room (Room 2) was on the ground floor with 2 sides adjoining roads / pavements.
There was no privacy unless you had the blinds down, which made the room gloomy and difficult to use. No dressing gowns are provided.
It was very warm and there was no fan or air conditioning, yet being on the ground floor and next to a road we didn?t feel we could sleep with the windows open.
We were woken at 5am with road noise on the first morning.
The peeling paint on the walls, full dirty teapot on arrival and spider dangling from the light above our bed didn?t help!
I emailed the hotel and spoke to the person on duty the next morning. No one came back to me with any comments or acknowledgment of our complaint and so I am writing this review.
Breakfast is ok (although full self service).
Be aware you will not feel like you had a good value experience.

Absolutely stunning pub with incredible staff and a great choice of drinks! Pizzas are absolutely to die for and everything was reasonably priced!
Staff were great and accommodating for both pup and baby!

Excellent gas / wood fired pizzas. As to see the pizza oven, it is a revolving one.

Good range of drinks and pizzas. Service charge is automatically added, which is disappointing, especially when you have to order at the bar, and it's already quite pricey for a small local pub.
It always leaves a bad taste when it's not until after I pay that I notice that they've added a 10% service charge, feels cheeky. It's not stated anywhere on the menus that they do this.
