Stopped for a quick drink. Pretty quiet, although accepting it was the middle of a Tuesday. Not a huge selection of drinks. I did notice they offer camping, evening means and packed lunches for coast to coast walkers, although we didn't take advantage.

We recently spent a week in Shap, we ate at the Crown Inn on 4 separate occasions and each time the food was excellent. Nice selection of food and ales available, very friendly staff and locals too.

Nice little pub. One of the few pubs in Shap. This pub serves food, has a pool table and a dart board and camping space available at the back, perfect if you're doing the coast to coast.
Pub has plenty of seating, 2 cask lines and when I was visiting, casks we're supporting locally breweries.
Very well priced and friendly staff.

Myself 2 huskies and a shitzu stayed in their double pod for 3 nights right nxt to amenities and the landlord was so so accommodating for helping me charge my phone didn't eat much from the pub as on a v tight budget but what I did have was lovely would I visit again ABSOLUTELY

Under new ownership since last June 2024 and our first visit there since the change over. Lovely place still and pleasant locals. The beer was in good condition, it has outdoor sitting area and also can accommodate overnight stays of tents. No food for us today, but the place does offer a good selection.

Amazing place to stop for a proper pub meal! Lovely lovely staff and locals. Dogs are welcome too ?? The food was so so so good!! The chicken and Ham pie was a stand out and my partner inhaled the burger in seconds. Portions were great sizes and we were not short on sides.
We will definitely be returning when passing! Thank you again

Stayed the night in our tent on our coast to coast walk. Felt very welcome by the lovely landlady and her son working behind the bar. A shower, delicious food and a couple of beers by the fire. What more could you want after a long days walking.

Camped at the crown inn with my wife during our coast to coast walk April 2025. Very friendly and welcoming staff, clean facilities in the camping area, great warm fire inside, good selection of drinks, excellent food - I had pie of the week my wife had lasagne, very generous portions can't recommend enough! Hope to visit again soon to try more of your menu!

During our weekend stay in Shap, we discovered the Crown Inn, and it was absolutely delightful! The pub had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent, with a wide variety of choices and generous portions. They even offered gluten-free options. The locals made us feel right at home and were very welcoming. Overall, it was spot on! ?

Called in for a drink last Friday.
First visit and instantly liked the place.
Very friendly both staff and locals.

We stumbled upon The Crown on our way home from Windermere. Fantastic, friendly service. We sat by the fire and thoroughly enjoyed delicious Lamb, with some beautifully cooked vegetables.
My daughter and I went home pleasantly full from the great portions of scrummy food. They also paid great attention to our dog Maya too.
