Ritson's Bar at Wasdale Head Inn is the place with great atmosphere. Perfect to stop by after long day of walking/hiking. The decor by itself will calm You down and make You feel cozy. Food is great, we had very good potato and leek soup and sausage and mash which was to die for. Great selection of local beers. You can also sit down outside next to the river and enjoy beauty of Lake District. Highly recommended ?

Lovely bar with friendly staff and a decent selection of drinks at a great price.
However?£4.50 for the attatched picture of chips is a con.

Doggy friendly place, which is amazing. The good was amazing and the vegan burger was the best I have ever had, compliments to the chef!

I really loved my experience in this pub. Had a great atmosphere, lots of good music and friendly staff. Food was hot and fresh, if anything could be added I think a little more cheese to the pasta but overall so lovely. I can imagine sitting outside when a little warmer would be so magical. I liked the posters around the walls too, you could have a good read of previous events and people living in the area? we delved into research over ?Owen Glynne Jones?, I local in the 19th century known for his fearless mountaineering and would entertain people down the local pub with his gymnastics apparently ?
The only thing I might say is there always seemed to be a queue to order food.. it might be better to serve people from tables or to have two order takers to remove the queuing for food!
Overall 9/10 experience today, will come back, particularly good after a long walk I imagine.

Fantastic place to stop after hiking scafell pike. We were camping in the National trust campsite not far away so very convenient for dinner. Lots of options, food was very good. I recommend the burger it was sooo good! Prawns and mozzarella sticks were also really good! Various locally brewed beers. Great prices too! You have to order at the bar. Outdoor and indoor seating.

Historic Inn perfect to stop in after a day on the fells, although could have been a bit warmer on the inside! Comforting menu with an excellent burger. The pie is actually a pot pie (pastry lid) so wasn?t as expected but delicious nonetheless.

Only pub for miles around. Just a 20 minute walk from Wasdale National Trust Campsite.
Nice cosy atmosphere and dog friendly.
Quick service and friendly staff.
The food was nice (though thicker gravy is needed!), but you are paying a premium for the location. Spent over £60 on 2 mains, 2 desserts and 1 alcoholic & 1 soft drink.
Would recommend if you're in the area.

Food expensive and portions not great, not a lot of steak in steak and ale pie. Two different pints of real ale, flat and very flat. Quite cold bar. Toilets smell - both M & F. But location fantastic so you can't have everything

My favourite pub in the UK. Perfect for a pint and a burger after climbing one of the many surrounding peaks. The adjoined Hotel also offers camping on the field opposite and was only £8 a night. Toilets and showers were to the rear of the building.
