“My partner took me for two nights for my birthday. Room no.1 was good, comfy bed, good tea & coffee facilities. Only complaint no towel rail in room. We ate in the reastaurant on Saturday night. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly and nothing was a problem. Debra was lovely, didn’t see much of Goeff, but sure he’s lovely as well. Breakfast was good. Only a five minute walk into Gosforth village which was nice and friendly. Again, my meal in their reasteraunt on Saturday night was amazing. Overall it’s big thumbs up from me x”

“We stayed here after climbing Scafell Pike, the location is great for this. Our 5 star rating comes from the really friendly and welcoming team that made our stay so good. We had dinner there which was lovely, breakfast was included and also very nice. We felt very looked after from start to finish. We were in a road facing room, I’m not sure if it was the climb or the bed but I slept like a log all night! Room was definitely tired and the decor was not perfect and had damages in places but absolutely did not affect our stay. Would stay again and do recommend.”

“We chose to eat lunch here because the beer garden looked ideal for our reactive dog. The beer garden is a good size with lots of tables so the dogs (4 in total as we went with friends) soon went to sleep. Very friendly service and nice food. The 4 of us had the lasagne and burgers between. I would definitely recommend the burgers. For those without reactive dogs, dogs are also allowed inside which has a pool table and beer pumps on some tables. We have since been back for a couple of drinks and a takeaway. The kebabs certainly won’t disappoint.”
