Beautiful spot, friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Dog friendly - we could even take our dog to the downstairs lounge to eat breakfast which is great as he goes mental when left on his own!It would have been good to have a small fridge in the room, other than that lovely stay and great value for money.

This is such a lovely place and the area. Sadly some of the staff is very uncaring to tell my child a more expensive price,I walked in and they quickly lowered the price and made out my daughter had not enough money because of her young age. This is very disappointing for the amazing place it is but I will not be entering place again with my daughter.I didn?t quiet catch the name of the member of staff but she works at the bar with blue hair .Food & drinks: The drinks are delicious

Stayed only for 2 nights to see family. It was a long drive up... fire alarm went off just before 5am in the morning.. following another 7ish times. Night staff was in his pjs and running round like a headless chicken. Told us there was no fire and so we tried to go back to sleep. Fire alarm went off like another 7 times coz they were faffing around with it. No sleep and at half 8 we got fed up and decided to leave hotel for abit. Was supposed to spend our main day, Saturday, with family before we go back on Sunday but had to go back to hotel through day to catch up on sleep... 65 quid a night and all they did was say sorry... I'm supposed to sleep in a hotel and I didn't even get that. Not even a complementary breakie in the morning nevermind a refund. Such a let down because its not a bad place but they didn't handle it great :/ very frustrating experience.

Maybe we were unlucky but the truth is that our stay at SeaCote was anything but pleasant. On the first day (october 5th) , my daughter fell into the bathtub because there was no non-stick coating on the floor or protective handles on the shower wall. As a result, she bruised her leg.On the second night (october 6th), we were hit by an alarm that prevented us from sleeping from 5am onwards, as it went off repeatedly, and no one from the hotel support was able to explain to us why...

Amazing staff. We stayed here as we were doing the coast to coast cycle. The staff are so helpful and friendly, special thanks to Lyn and Faith for being so flexible with check in times and the night Porter to helping us get in late. A lovely spot and people.

The village of St Bees is an interesting historic place. The hotel is not in the main village but overlooks the bay. It was easy enough to park and we were given a slip of paper at the hotel reception to display in our car windscreen as the large car parking area was normally a Pay and Display. It seems a very tired hotel . Reception was pretty impersonal. We certainly weren't greeted with any enthusiasm. Instead we were subjected to an attempt to sell us an evening meal and breakfast (Although the Tripadvisr editorial says breakfast is included, it wasn't) We declined and although we were told it was advisable to book for an evening meal because it got booked up, it was far from full when we walked past to have our meal at a pub in the village. The prices have been commented on previously and we can confirm that when we had a drink in the bar later the prices were indeed ridiculously high in a room that wasn't particularly inspiring. Our room was accessed by a lift. It was OK with a view of the sea being the high point. The furniture was pretty old and dated. Next morning we went to the beach cafe for breakfast- far better value than at the hotel. I doubt we would ever return unless the hotel- and the staff, were refurbished
