Pretty poor to be honest. Expensive car park and not the greatest choice on the menu. Also despite there being sausage barm on the breakfast menu, our 8 year old son politely asked 15 mins after the breakfast cut off at 12 if they could make him one, was just bluntly told no.Lack of customer service really and expensive. Caters to a captive audience who have been out walking in the beautiful forest. Not recommended I'm sorry.

Arrived at the doors at 3pm an hour before closing and the chairs were already stacked on the tables. You could however sit in the searing heat on one of the outside tables. Would have been nice and cool inside?? Did not stay. Apparently no menu available apart from drinks.

My husband and I had paninis which were lush and my son had hot dog and crisps followed by the most amazing carrot cake ever. In June we had scones with a side of cheese and pickles which were absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend this sweet place.

This is our second time stopping at this little cafe that sits just in as you go into Dodd Wood. Sat outside as only dog friendly outside but the food was lovely.

Eating out in the Lake District can be pricey, so for me value for money is important. This teashop opposite Mirehouse & Gardens was excellent - the Ploughman's Lunch (£9.99) I had featured a really good variety of items while my wife's pea and watercress soup was plentiful with sandwiches - if you wanted them -was excellent. Staff was also friendly and very helpful, happy to meet dietary requests.

Great place. Staff are always lovely and friendly. Always spotlessly clean. Cakes amazing! Just a coffee this visit but all meals previously have been lovely.

Lovely little place and the food was nice enough but I nearly keeled over when I realised I was getting charged £7 for a small slice of cake. Over £14 for a sausage sandwich (which was nice) a can of coke and slice of cake plus £1.20 parking on top.No prices on display for the cakes which I'm not surprised at as if there was I don't think they would sell many.Put a bit of a damper on an otherwise lovely day and walk.In response to the tea rooms reply, the Cumberland sausage was £4.95, the can of pop was £2.50 and I was charged a total of £14.70. You do the sums. I also heard someone else order 2 slices of cake which came to over £14 so something is wrong with your prices.I had no complaints about the sandwich, it was lovely.

Unfortunately it wasn?t a good experience, the waiter appeared put out by simple requests e.g. provision of cutlery and desperate to get away. Why bring food out that requires a fork eg side salad without cutlery? No cutlery anywhere to be seen to help yourself to.I was given a blackened ciabatta to eat (I heard someone in the kitchen say ?well she did ask for crispy bacon?). I had to send it back.£30 total for a bacon ciabatta sandwich, child?s sausage roll and a sausage baguette plus 3 drinks.Bring a picnic instead. The best bit - the woods are beautiful and the toilets are clean!
