The food is nicely presented but tasted of nothing, extremely bland. Very disappointing. Furthemore the food is not fresh e.g : frozen carpaccio (cooked on the side) bland pheasant, instant mash..

The spacious restaurant is a pleasant place to enjoy a meal, we stayed two nights and the quality of the food ranged from superb fillet steak to rather dry tortellini, good basic fish and chips to stodgy risotto, but there was a varied menu and some nice starters. A bit pricey. A very good breakfast menu, with the staple English breakfast standing out. For a hotel restaurant - very good.

Food was very good despite the negative reviews. Not at all like what people are saying. Waitresses and waiters were very friendly and all the food was very tasty. Very thankful we didn?t miss out on this opportunity due to the bad reviews on here!

Dined here whilst stay at the hotel, we had 2 courses from the menu which is a little pricy but the food was good and well presented , service attentive. Downside was the dinning room the blue room whilst we enjoyed an open fire was dated and in need of updating, the lighting was also not great. Coffee was also very expensive . But I would return as I did enjoy the food.

Visited the restaurant as I used to frequent the hotel many years ago and our regular restaurant was fully booked. The hotel is in need of some updating as it is looking rather tired however the atmosphere is pleasant and the setting is quite romantic. Dinner was a set menu at £60 per person with extra supplements for steak, cheese board or coffee. I had hoped that the food would be at least aiming in the direction of Michelin star standard but unfortunately it was just nice, rather average and certainly not of the quality that the price bracket suggested. The staff were lovely and we did have a nice evening. Unfortunately though I think we would give it a miss next time as there are many more restaurants in the area offering more exciting food at much better value for money.

We were staying at the hotel, so ate here for lunch and dinner. I?m not sure which service was the more baffling of the two. There are a lot of staff who all seem to have a loose understanding of their job. Some are nervous and easily spooked, others are vacant with a haunted look on their face, but all border on incompetent. At times there are 4 or 5 staff milling about, and at others it?s barren. Drinks take an impossibly long time to arrive, and you aren?t ever offered another - I?d suggest you plan ahead and order two drinks in advance, and maybe bring a bottle of water just in case. We had ?Sandwiches? for lunch. You can?t really get a sandwich wrong, can you? A nice filling, sandwiched between two slices of bread. Well forget everything you thought you knew about sandwiches. Here?s a dusty steak slapped on top of a single piece of comically small bread. Chicken and bacon sandwich? Here?s a tower of pale chicken, also on a single piece of comically small bread. Dinner shared all of the same problems, but this time it?s extortionate. You have to have a reservation, you can?t just walk in. The 20 cover restaurant had 3 other covers in the 90 minutes we were there. Service is again bordering on comical. The food is soft, bland, and inoffensive. I?m pretty sure my saliva was adding more flavour to the dish than my tongue was receiving. The cauliflower cheese had the most texture of anything that passed by the table. The bread is - for some reason - baked and served in a soggy old flower pot. It smells and tastes like chip batter. I?m sure this venue will be leaking money. The owners might wonder why - it has the best view we?ve eaten by in the UK. But even with 10 minutes sat in the guest experience will tell them; this is D tier food, at B tier prices, with F tier service. Might be worth suffering through lunch for the A tier view, though.

Stayed at the hotel for one week so we had breakfast everyday and two dinners at the restaurant. We really appreciate Nikolay?s professional and warm service at the restaurant and the lounge bar. Always a pleasure to start the day with his warm service. As for the foods, the first dinner there (Monday) was really decent fine dining. We had Venison Wellington and a pork dish with different ways of cooking different parts of pork. Again, thanks Nikolay for the great recommendation. I had the same pork dish on Wed but it was really disappointing: burnt veg, large chunk of badly cut pork loin, half size pork cheek. The restaurant did not charge for the dish and I was told this was because a different chef cooked it. In all, this restaurant has a first-class service team, hope they could maintain the standard of food as I had on Monday... Pictures attached: great Monday dinner
