Everything here feels just perfect ? a peaceful village surrounded by vast grasslands, with beautiful stone walls running through. We arrived on a weekday around 12:30 and were greeted with genuine warmth.
Inside, the charm is undeniable: unique antiques, countryside details, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The menu is simple, and the food arrived quickly ? every dish was a delight. The kids devoured their homemade pie, my husband enjoyed rich chicken liver with toasted bread, I savored the lamb dish with rich flavor. and we all shared the celery soup, absolutely delicious.
While waiting, I stepped into the small outdoor courtyard for a moment ? and it was just as lovely as everything else. A perfect spot for both a good meal and a little slice of peace.

Fantastic pub and restaurant. Really great food - probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Slight delay with our main course, but we appreciate these things happen and the staff were very apologetic. All in all, great experience and highly recommend.

I called in here with my partner, son and his girlfriend for lunch on a Saturday while we were on the Dalemain walk. We just wanted a drink but when we saw the food, we decided to get something. We all had a sandwich. The fish finger butty was the best I have ever had, it was lovely. Lovely traditional pub, friendly staff. It was a sunny day so we went into the beer garden. Great experience.

Beer and Food was amazing. Hostess very pleasant. Sadly for us let down by roaming uncontrolled dogs. Not everyone wants dogs where they eat.

Fantastic! Best fish and chips I have ever had. Also the sea bass was very good. Good selection of beer including Kirkby Lonsdale brewery Dark Side of the Lune! Very friendly staff. Great views and lovely old world character.

Only went for a post sauna beer but the menu looked so good the 3 of us ended up staying for dinner. Superb imaginative dishes all served by 4 lovely ladies. Completely unexpected, loved it. Beer and wine also brill.

Absolutely gorgeous, im a really fussy eater and hardly eat meat and we were recommended this pub for a Sunday lunch and I can tell you it didnt disappoint, It was exceptional. Food was hot and delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly service was fast and the lager was gorgeous too. Wish I lived closer to be able to go again.
