Popped in for the Sunday carvery and was met with a very warm welcome. I can only echo and reinforce other reviewers comments regarding the excellent quality of food and friendly staff. Just try it, you won?t be disappointed!

We didn't stay in the hotel but the food was amazing we had their Thai menu and Anna the cook was so friendly and made us laugh we had roast dinner on Sunday the best I have ever had fantastic weekend in our motor

We nipped into The Crown Hotel for their amazing Sunday carvery and it most certainly did not disappoint.The food was hot and fresh and the meat portions were very substantial and cooked to perfection. The choice of vegetables was tremendous and freshly cooked and there was even a choice of beef, chicken or vegetable gravy.The staff were absolutely lovely and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.I highly recommend trying this place.

Cant go wrong, 12.95 for a carvery 6.95 for kids. Had a choice of four meats, pork, gammon, beef and turkey. It was cut thick...would recommed for anyone wanting a sunday dinner thats not to pricey

we went here to get food and drinks and we ordered and they said they haven?t got it in the kitchen then i picked something else and they didn?t have that the man behind the bar looks tired and is rude when u order a drink he just looks at you like you have 4 heads this place is going right down it looks like it hasn?t been cleaned in ages flys everywhere going into the kitchen absolutely disgusting

The best Thai food we've had for a long time - well worth the drive! We chose the hotel as it was convenient distance-wise for us to meet up with a friend. The meal was less important than the meeting - but wow we were thrilled. Two of us had fish and chips, as we didn't expect more than basic pub grub but we were so wrong. My husband ordered coconut prawn something or other and the smell was so amazing we had to help him. Our fish and chips were delicious, and not running with oil! Plus homemade chips, proper mushy peas, and a generous lump of lemon. You need to see past the dated interior, and just relish the generous and superior quality food and atmosphere in this historical old Inn. Take a look at the beautiful wood-carved fire surround in the bar. Enjoy telling the jolly Thai chef how good her food is and see her break into smiles and giggles....wonderful meal.

Take no notice of the detractors. This pub is unpretentious, traditional (not the slick contemporary, hipster version) and serves a standard of food that would be raved about, if it were served in a flash, city high street. Don?t be put off by appearances, get yerselves in, be adventurous in your ordering and enjoy a far east/northern England experience!

I stayed at this pub/hotel as a motorhome stopover. Therefore I cannot comment on the rooms or service other than dining. The food was fantastic Thai, well cooked and plenty of it. The cook is the Landlady and she is herself a Thai national. The beer was equally good. Fairly large flat carpark with plenty of room. Two vans stayed overnight including ourselves. Very safe parking with a fully enclosed car park. Very quiet.

We went to this hotel for a meal and a drink the place was clean with (while we were there two working there the landlord/bar manager and the Thai (I think) lady cooking both were pleasant and helpful, the Guinness was superb, the Thai food was plentiful and reasonably priced.
