First time I've stayed at the Sun Inn as I've been a local until last year. The rooms pleasantly surprised me. Very clean, well furnished, sound proofing from the road is great, breakfast is amazing...can't fault the place at all. We will be back with our dogs soon. Great work ??Rooms: Can't fault them at all. Good size, very clean and cosy.Nearby activities: It's Pooley...what more do I need to say?! ?Walkability: Walks from the doorstep - Ullswater Way, boat to Glenridding or Howtown for walks up either side of Ullswater. Great location

Booked a night on a campsite not too far from the Pooley Bridge and literally popped into the village, just for a ?quick? nosey. Visited the Sun Inn and cancelled the campsite. Stayed more locally because we found everything we had wanted from our ?escape from the rat race? in the few hours that we spent in the Sun Inn. A fabulous warm welcome from Gordon, not the sometimes fake effort you get from those in the hospitality industry but a genuine warm welcome. The beer was cold with a great selection and the food was plentiful and delicious. Dogs welcome, families welcome and couples just winding down welcome. Great atmosphere, relaxed and easy. We will absolutely be back. Thank you ?
