Staff not helpful at all they ate rude in there manarism and need training in customer service. As for telephone calls not one of them know what they are doing.

We where looking for support to transfer ?3000 to another country and visited the Carlisle branch only to find it closed for refurbishment. I have to say that the staff here are always very engaging & helpful. We travelled to Penrith HSBC to be met by an unorganised queue and were then served by the most miserable Scottish individual. (male). When I asked if there would be a charge for the transfer, he responded that to answer that was above his pay grade. We then found out that there was a charge of ?76 and the actual transfer was then short. Unbelievable poor service.

HSBC has to be one of the worst banks to deal with. Telephone banking is slow and when they answer they cant do anything to help, every time i contact them they direct me to visit my branch. when i go to branch they are understaffed.

Friendly staff, but be warned no counter service on Saturdays and so no way to deposit cash...... meant a wasted 60 mile return trip while we were on holiday.

The bank is fine, with helpful staff, but unless you want to waste time listening to terrible music, don't bother ringing.
