Lovely cafe that we stumbled on and decided to try purely as they had hagis for lunch. All three of our meals were delicious and we're served very quickly. I would imagine the only catch would be trying to get a seat when busy!

This was my first visit to Chapter 12, on the recommendation of friends.
I chose to go there for an early morning Chai latte and something yummy to eat .
I was very happy on both accounts. The Chai latte was hot and delicious and the selection of home-made fresh cakes was amazing. .
The staff were very friendly and happy and the restaurant was spotless .
I hope to return soon .

I have visited Chapter 12 over the years. I feel the food quality has deteriorated. I had the Lorne Sausage which was burnt. The Black Pudding fell to bits I couldn't get it on my fork. I left most of it. No one asked about if we enjoyed our food

Outstanding food. Very creative and well presented salads. Large portions and meats cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Beautiful ambience and well decorated.

Food was gorgeous and arrived super quick to the table , atmosphere was relaxed and super cosy with some great music, coffee was amazing, also staff are friendly and attentive! Couldn?t ask for a better stop for a quick breakfast and coffee!

Amazing food. Lovely staff. Definitely worth a visit. Chicken burger was amazing. As were the cakes. Orange and cranberry scone was to die for.

Had no idea about anything in Penrith. So decided to stop for walk and some food , plenty cafés etc , first one i tried staff were unfriendly and not helpful. So crossed over the road best decision we done . Staff were polite ,helpful and made me eggs benedict even although it was on the breakfast menu . Food was delicious and plentiful

Couldn?t recommend this place enough! Best scones we?ve ever had and the most delicious chicken burger & burns fry up. Staff were so friendly and allowed us to work from here for a few hours before catching our train back to London. Would come to Penrith just to pay it another visit :)

Food fine, service fine, dont enjoy them being joined by dogs, if you must allow dirty animals into a food establishment I suggest you segregate them away from people who perhaps may have allergies

I?m really hesitant to give this place 3 stars because I want to love it, and I understand what it?s like behind the scenes at a café. But after visiting four times?three of which were disappointing?I don?t think I?ll be returning.
The service is very slow. While others around us were being served and receiving their food, we hadn?t even been acknowledged. Maybe it?s just bad luck, but we were polite and clearly ready to order, so I?m not sure why. Drinks also take a long time?staff always apologise (they are generally very friendly), but waiting 20 minutes for a drink is frustrating.
The food itself tastes fine, no complaints there. However, on my last visit, I ordered a cake that was forgotten. After waiting in line at the till to get someone?s attention, I reminded them, and they mentioned it needed to be heated due to the caramel topping?no problem, but of course, it took even longer. When it finally arrived, the top was burnt (not just browned, but charred), and the cake itself was barely lukewarm. It tasted nice, but after a few bites, I noticed a hair in it. The staff apologised and didn?t charge me, which I appreciated, but it was still disappointing.
It?s a shame because the café has a great atmosphere and is clearly popular, but the slow service, forgotten orders, and little mistakes?like a hair in my food?make it an unreliable spot for a quick coffee or lunch.
I wish I could give my usual 5 stars, but unfortunately, I just can?t.
