Went in to collect a Mountain Warehouse order due to my order email saying ?BOOTHS - Penrith?. The customer service colleague was condescending and unhelpful, almost mocking us by saying ?this is Booths?. It turns out the Mountain Warehouse is literally joined to the building next door which surely she could have informed us? Completely put me off returning if the staff all think they are superior

*Booths*: £4.25, coffee 6/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 7/10 (good quality, no butter/only marg).
Overall 7/10
*Cranstons*: £3.85, coffee 2/10 (just not good), roll 7/10 (Cumberland is best of all deals, very peppery/spiced, no butter/only marg, nice chutneys, bread roll a bit doughy)
Overall 5/10
*Greggs*: £2.85, coffee 7/10 (actually decent, a bit highly caffeinated for me), roll 5/10 (decent at the price point, always bacon though as sausage are low quality, no butter/only marg)
Overall 6/10
*Tim Hortons*: £3.50, coffee 3/10 (just go black coffee in which case 7/10, everything else far too milky), wrap 5/10 (tastes kind of nice at the time, but you know it?s crap - like crack)

*Rheged*: £4.25, coffee 8.5/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 8.5/10 (good quality, butter, lovely crunchy roll, bacon or sausage as an option are fine and an extra quid for both)

On consecutive days the speed of service at the cafe was unbelievably slow. On a Sunday it?s understandable but it took 45 minutes to get a fish finger sandwich and a ham sandwich. I went again on Monday again the sandwich took 50minutes to not even arrive, in the end I had to cancel the order as I ran out of time.
This is nothing against the staff or the food, but there is some communication issue between the till and the kitchen, or just not enough staff. Hopefully easy to fix.

Cafe has good choice of cakes etc, but there was a long wait for warm food.

Only called in for something to eat. Got a lovely hot sausage and black pudding sandwich from a nice friendly young lady at the stall just inside the door. Will definitely call again if in the area.

Had a quick pop in to grab some lunch, went for the hot sandwiches which were good. The store was bright and spacious and all the staff we came across were lovely and friendly.
