Popped in to the garden centre. Never seen so many dead plants in a store before. Basically all I could find still alive were hydrangeas and Fatsias. Amid the dried up remains of the perennial section was a Lewisia which I took to salvage. Amongst a huge section of Japanese anemones I only found two still alive. I took the one that looked like it may survive & gave it a good drenching as soon as I got home. Can't imagine how much money was lost at this store from ruined plants that nobody could be bothered to water or attend to.
Best experience I?ve ever had in a DIY shop! Absolutely cracking team members, super helpful, could?t do enough! So friendly, actually had a bit of a laugh and banta with them! In particular the Deputy Manager Craig, team members Alasder and Laura on the till were just brilliant! They took my being a ?pushy? customer (my opinion) in their stride bless them!

Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Lots of choice from paint and wallpaper, house furnishings to fill kitchens, power tools, garden equipment, wood, doors anything DIY for house and garden- you name it B & Q seem to have it.

self service is a joke when your wanting loads of building materials. building material stock very very limited so be much better to go somewhere else. expensive for hardware go to screwfix which is owner by the same company so B@Q are just pulling your pants down

I went there from down south needed help there early was met by a member of staff laura very helpful she went out of her way to help, if everyone was like her it would be a better world thank you laura and the rest of staff that week early morning staff

B&Q Penrith serves a very wide area for a relatively small town, being the only DIY store within a practical distance for the villages of the Eden Valley. I always find it well stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I even buy some of my plants there and they are good quality and reasonably priced. My only very slight criticism is that they could have more tills open, and although there is a self serve till a lot of people are reluctant to use it (I do whenever I have just a couple of small bits, but it's not very practical for those with a trolley or larger items.)

Self serve checkouts only, but staff put stuff through for you.Queued up , items put through went to pay, oh my gosh Cash!!!!!!!!This is card only, do you have a card, yes but I am paying cash .........You are at the wrong checkout, you should be there, pointing to closed checkout behindWell you told me to come here and started my transaction.We are going to have to do it again on this till now and make the other customers wait.Better idea, keep the stuff.......

The store doesn't always have what you need in stock but the staff are all really helpful. Big shout out to Paul and Chris for getting my order sent especially over from the North East. ?
