We had a large table booking yesterday for a birthday meal.
Dave & the team were wonderful and the meal was delicious classic pub food - we understand why the cheese and onion pie is award winning.
Highly recommend a visit to the lovely quaint village.
The beer garden is also huge if you are lucky enough to get some sun as we did.
Thanks again!

Six of us ate here on the 18th Feb.
The food was amazing and the service couldn't be faulted.
The Bay Horse has now become our new go to place when eating out/business entertaining.
We have booked in for the highly recommended Sunday carvery

The Pub is in a lovely location and is very welcoming. The food was amazing. We had
The burger and chips. It was fabulous; generous portions and very tasty.
I would highly recommend a visit.

Staying in a holiday home for the week about an hours walk away so decided to walk there for a drink today and with the view of booking in to eat there most days of our stay.
However on arrival the lady behind the bar made us feel most unwelcome and said ?she couldn?t serve us at the moment as she had a large table in? but to take a seat, which we did and then a younger lady appeared at the bar and served drinks the table that came in after us. Not her fault, the other lady obviously hadn?t even told her we had been seated and were waiting for a drink) So we tried again and the bar and got served by the pleasant younger lady. The original person, reappeared within about a minute and then proceeded to talk to the table next to us and never even asked if we?d been served, in fact didn?t even acknowledge our existence! We?ve now walked to the black bull in Nateby where we?ve received a lovely welcome and our party of 6 have booked in there for the rest of the week.
Tip; never make a customer feel like an inconvenience, just because we were only planning on a couple of drinks today, doesn?t mean we weren?t planning on eating there and the fact you made us feel like an inconvenience becuase ?you had a big table in? really was most unprofessional, just a ?I will be with you in a moment? would have made all the difference

Myself and my Brother visited The Bay Horse at Winton for a few drinks and a meal.
The bar manager and staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The service ordering drinks was very good.
The pub is very cozy and a lovely little place to enjoy the night out.
Meals were very good and plenty on the plate to ensure you dont go home hungry.
So much so we had to skip the sweet.
All in all a very good night and the locals In the pub was also friendly
Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Beautiful Gastro pub in a lovely hidden village. We walked in the door to find a cosy bar area with lovely decor and seating. A lovely lady gave us a very warm welcome before taking our drink order. We ordered the soup of the day and three meat carvery. The soup came to the table but the carvery was self serve in another room. We moved from our cosy oldy world area in to a stunning room with large windows and distant views. Hidden gem. We have to thank our friends mum for inviting us.

We were looking for a nice pub for lunch. This place does not disappoint. It is well located between Kirkby Stephen and Brough in the village of Winton. Good menu selection, all home cooked and served with a smile. Nice decor in keeping with the charm of the pub. Great loos with baby changing facility.
