We called in for a drink only so sorry can't comment on the food. Lovely modern decor in a traditional very old pub with original beams. Nice friendly staff. Pub was very quiet when we called on a Thursday afternoon. Would like to call back sometime for a meal.

Would Not use this place ever again
Only go here if you want to be scammed and ripped off
Me and the wife called in for a meal
£16.00 for a ploughman's it was very basic not worth the money
Wife had ham sandwich with chips £9.50 not to bad for price
Until you get the bill
Hidden charges
£5.15 service charge
£9.00 for a whisky and £2.00 shot of lemonade
Did not realise until I left the premises and looked at the bill
My advice is stay clear of The Sun Inn ,6 market place

Have had nice meals in the past. Today however menu had changed and was dearer alongside a 12.5% gratuity charge
My husband's was good but my ploughman's was poor at best. The bread was even stale. Was not asked if our meals were satisfactory. Will not return which is a shame.

Lovely stay. But tv in room very dated hardly any channels, an thick with dust behind it. An the full English very limited one sausage no hash browns or beans. I understand half the time we not in room out an about enjoying the outdoors. But at night like to wind down an for 5 star tv needs updating.

Surprised at the good reviews! Because of them we booked a meal here. No atmosphere, food below average, portions small and overpriced. Starters were honestly minute. Ordered fish and chips and the portion of tartare sauce was bigger than the portion of mushy peas. You could count the chips with just 2 hands. When asked how the food was I replied ?only ok? presumably the manager/owner, an older gentleman didn?t bat an eyelid, not interested at all. Plenty of other lovely places, don?t bother with this one for a meal. We booked for a Friday at 7 and it was virtually empty, that tells you something.
