We popped in for lunch with our dog. The staff couldn?t have been more helpful and friendly and the chef was more than happy to accommodate our dietary requirements. Apparently the pub is under new ownership with a new chef who makes everything from scratch himself. The food was delicious and service excellent. Our little dog was spoiled rotten with a lovely bowl of roast beef!!! The price wasn?t bad either. We would definitely visit again.

Nice pub, friendly service and great prices. Can't comment on rooms or food as only popped in for a drink. Would return to drink and watch the football if I was back in the area.

Visited today Friday to find 7 of the beers on offer not available, only 1 cask yet they boast a great selection. 1 bar tender and a queue of 9, no fish available and minimum wait for two sandwiches at least half an hour. Wish we had not bought a beer before asking for the menu.

Popped in for some lunchtime food. Took over half an hour for our order to arrive. The smallest baked potatoes in the world arrived with a mere speckle of filling. A few salad leaves took up one third of the plate. Very disappointed.

We had a Lovely room right in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale.
Service at the bar was very slow due to low staff although the lad behind the bar was trying his best.
Full English Breakfast was awful we left most of it burnt bacon and hash browns cheap catering sausage and God knows what they did to the greasy mushrooms it was awful.

Update review from 3 years ago, gave it 1 star last time,TBF the food was better, not quite the picture you're putting on the Facebook page but wasn't to bad, 1 person serving behind the bar again, saw people was walking out young girl was pulled out of the place only brought 3 meals out when we was waiting for 4.. I walked passed the kitchen saw my wife's meal still under the hotplate I popped in asked the chef was it for table 12, he replied yes so I took it and served it to my mrs which TBF we all found quite funny, Young girl was still trying to do her best , but hey ho, maybe you got a staffing problem who knows but Sunday lunch 1 person behind the bar ?, but yes the food we had was ok

After my friend tried ringing to book and then used the online booking system (but received no confirmation email) we thought we were booked in for 7.30pm. No booking recognised but plenty of tables available. We ordered drinks at the bar and out of the 4 drinks two were offered as requested but there was no vodka and no Bacardi. I then asked for a Captain Morgan?s but there wasn?t enough for a full measure left in the bottle. I then made a third choice! my friend found something she wanted with a struggle. The bar tender seemed to be under pressure the whole time we were there. she had to go find out what the soup and pie of the day were. We ordered four starters and four mains. She thought our choice of chicken dish was sold out and had to leave her position again to find out. The starters arrived and were ok. Two of the mains were ok but two of us that had the chicken dish found the chicken breast was very dry and quite hard on the edges?.its a good thing it was served with a sauce!! Two of our mains crockery were removed before we had all finished eating and then a third one leaving one person still eating. This last plate and cutlery wasn?t removed after finishing.
We then went to order desserts and another round of drinks to be told they could only offer sticky toffee pudding and no others, not even ice cream or sorbets! We didn?t bother ordering either and left, no doubt, never to return. Just before we left we heard another couple complaining about the same chicken dish. Not the best eating experience when we travelled to meet up with friends.

Just popped in for a drink and a snack. The garden out the back was so lovely to sit out on such a sunny day. The snack, which was much bigger than expected was perfect. Lovely relaxing hour

Had an overnight stay here with a group of friends. We were made welcome. Our room was clean and tidy although a little small and the room was very warm

Booked a table as it was a Sunday so thought it might be booked. Arrived and got told our table was taken and we were placed next to the pool room with the football blaring. The whole pub was packed due to the football, it was very loud and not really ideal for a nice Sunday dinner.
The lady who served us was very pleasant, but it was not the kind of venue I would chose for a Sunday meal, so had a drink and left it at that.

We didn't stay here this time but we have stayed in the past our room was nice but the bathroom let it down unfortunately but it was 2 years ago and I should imagine that they would have resolved the issues
