Hotel situated in the centre of Kirby Lonsdale. Food and service good, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Individual type shops nearby and a lovely walk alongside the river.

Beautiful old hotel with public bar and restaurant, dog friendly, real fire in snug, perfect for a warm drink on a cold Sunday before Christmas. Bar/restaurant area combines retro modern with traditional grandeur. Relaxed and welcoming.Didn?t stay overnight but from the website rooms look fantastic too, definitely worth a splurge for a special weekend away, we will be back.Nearby activities: The Royal Hotel is centrally located in the wonderful old village of Kirkby Lonsdale, with a picture postcard high street and traditional market square.Perfect for leisurely browsing the eclectic range of shops and cafes and at least six other pub/bar/hotels all within a short stroll from the door. The beautiful river Lune and famous Devils bridge are a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Kirkby either along the river walk or public footpath both directly accessible from the village centre.

Lovely decor but underused place, right in the centre of town.Great food, served promptly and in a relaxed atmosphere.Ate here twice during our stay. Advertises pizza as its mainstay, but it's so much much more.Great views from the restaurant and the snug is a lovely place to relax after your meal for a cognac.Nice restaurant manager and has the correct attitude to service. Will be back and enjoy its facilities. We didn't stay, but the restaurant is a boon.Food & drinks: Excellent
