Stayed in self catering apartments with pooch, really spacious and comfortable. Great location next to lake and close to Keswick Town centre. Great value for money.

Enjoyed my stay. Great hotel if you don't mind a little, but lovely walk into keswick, which I don't. Perfect location for catbells as you can walk to hawes end in about half an hour. Dated rooms but great service and a comfortable stay. The breakfast was great!

An exceptional value for money. Like many others have noted, the hotel is a bit dated, but easily looked over when taking in the whole experience. I found its location great as its just off a main road giving easy access to travel into the lake district. Check in and bar staff were all great, friendly, and helpful. I found the dinning area quite cozy with a nice view and spent a good amount of time there each night. Food was also good with vegetarian options. Local beers on tap also recommend. I will deffinitely be using the hotel in the future. Thank you all for a pleasant time.Rooms: Fully furnished apartment with kitchen appliances. Somewhat dated but everything worked well. Bring your own body wash!Nearby activities: Easily access Keswick, derwent water, cat bells, and buttermere nearby. Plenty of walks and hikes to be had!Walkability: Only a short walk into keswick city centre. There is also a path from the hotel which connects to some trails around derwent water.Food & drinks: A nice standard menu with vegetarian options, and food was tasteful.

Excellent value considering where you?re staying and the size of the rooms. Important aspects such as bedding and bathroom were clean and fresh. Bring your own washing up liquid, shower gel and slippers. The staff were kind and laid back. Our place was for 6 but the sofa bed is quite small for 2. Not sure what people are expecting when you?re paying not much more compared to a hostel per night for an entire place with a living room and kitchen to yourself. The place is definitely out dated but who cares for the price value you?re getting. Allows everyone to enjoy the beauty of the Lake District. Thank you!

So, so dirty, we didn't dare take our boots off. The public area was grim. So disappointed as it's perfectly placed for a stay in the lakes.

Absolutely fantastic oldy worldly hotel. Beautiful settings ideal for families, dog owner's, couples and singles. All staff fabulous, food fabulous, chef Absolutely fan dabby dozey, security brilliant keep the good work up. House Keeping especially for the room that my Husband and I stayed in. Needs improving. Faults window sills need cleaning properly, cobwebs on ceilings and corners of room need dusting. Our room was 117. Other than that Brilliant. Thank you for a lovely stay. Take care 1 and all see you again.Mr and Mrs A FlanaganRooms: Large, facilities standard,Safety: Felt very safe. Especially when you can't sleep and want too sit in the gardens at 3am in the morning and you know when the security are looking out for you.Walkability: Country road's to various destinations. If you follow the Country Code. You should have no problem.Food & drinks: Top knoch food. Drinks plenty.

VALUE FOR MONEY!! the cheapest hotel I came across for a night near the lakes. I was apprehensive when I ordered as I didn't know what to expect for the money. But I was very happy with it when I arrived, nice and clean room with everything you need for a stay. Lovely bar area with a huge conservatory, dog friendly, nice resteraunt area for evening meals and breakfast. Would definitely go back to stay here again.Rooms: Nice hotel room, tea and coffee provided, TV, wardrobe, en-suite, nice view if you get lake side rooms. Haird dryer and towels providedFood & drinks: Lovely bar area selling pub menu and resteraunt area if you book a table

We got the room at a very cheap price and should have taken that as the first sign. It might have been dog friendly but can?t even say that the dog was happy to stay. The rooms were clean enough minus the damp wallpaper in the corner of the room, cobwebs, chipped paint, broken plug in the bathroom? but the passageways and public areas were much to be desired. Mattress was bad.. could feel every spring. Extremely scarce feeling in the room and bathroom. The whole place is dated and grimey. Surrounding grounds for dog walks was overgrown, inaccessible and actually dangerous with broken bridges and footpaths.Would not recommend. Just spend the extra money to go somewhere you actually might enjoy staying. The surround area is beautiful and worth visiting if you find the right place to stay!

The hotel is very tired but room was clean and adequate especially for the price we paid, receptionist was really friendly. Breakfast was normal buffet style although they had ran out of quite a few items which we asked for and never got replaced in the hour we were there. Location is great, ideal for walking round Derwentwater and taxi into Keswick was handy for £6.

Sometimes it's the team that make the stay great. This was one of those times. Really appreciated the advice on local walks and routes down from Catbells.

Let me start by saying that the location is perfect. The rooms are large and it would?ve been overall comfortable if it wasn?t for the fact that we found mice droppings in the living room and kitchen area. What was more disappointing is that the reception already knew about this problem; they shrugged and said the mice were field mice and that they very protected so there?s nothing they can do. As we only had one day left I suggested they?d clean it in the morning but when we came back the next day no cleaning had been done. Unfortunate that such a unhygienic problem was dealt with this way. Not to mention the mould behind the TV, broken shower head and cob webs everywhere!
