Nordic Outdoor in Keswick has a fantastic selection of stock with friendly and knowledgable staff who offer just the right level of service. It's our go-to shop whenever we visit.

Poor experience of the store in Keswick as opposed to the one in Edinburgh to which I would give 5 stars. Went into Edinburgh store not expecting to buy anything but friendly & knowledgable staff lead to us spending nearly £500 (including NHS discount) whereas went into Keswick store with the aim of buying a new fjallraven backpack however, when asked about the NHS discount was told that they dont offer NHS discount. Staff completely unhelpful. When asked if they would price match another store in Keswick, was told that they would not. Went and spent our money elsewhere. Disappointing after such a positive experience in the Edinburgh store.

Staff attitude really poor. Won?t be returning and took money elsewhere where they actually took an interest

Asolutely hopeless, and to be honest quite rude staff. The item i bought didn't fit, and their returns policy isn't at all customer friendly, giving only 14 days to exchange the item and you can't get a refund at all. Now I'm stuck with an expensive item that doesn't fit. I may as well have put the money straight in dustbin and not bothered shopping there. My first and last visit. Are you really a genuine Scandinavian company, I can't believe a real Nordic company would be so disgracefully unethical and treat people so poorly. The reply from their customer services:Many thanks for getting in touch ? I?m sorry you didn?t manage to get the correct size in the Aclima top you purchased.I?m afraid our instore policy is 14 days for an exchange or a credit note, we are unable to offer refunds for purchases made instore. We do ensure signage is visible throughout the store highlighting this and it is also printed on all receipts for instore purchases, this policy is offered alongside and does not affect your statutory rights.

I specifically wanted to visit this shop to buy an axe and cooler box but before doing so I asked if they had and Nordic Walking Poles (for my wife) to which the reply was "no, of course not"!? I asked why it was a stupid question given they are a Nordic Outdoor shop and was told "we can't stock everything" in a very sarcastic tone at which point I decided to take my business elsewhere Nd spent £350 down the road.

Beautiful, quality merchandise . The lady was very honest with me about a product not being waterproof; which goes along way hope to return soon .

No masks worn by staff member during Covid restrictions. A maskless member of public was allowed to browse around handling goods with impunity....

I like this store, it has s a good selection of products that you don?t often see in other stores in Keswick.Having said that it always feels overpriced and unfortunately this tends to leave a bad feeling after buying from the store. I purchased a woodcarving kit recently and just found out I paid £10 over the odds. That was a 25% premium! This store needs to be MUCH more on point with its pricing if it does not want to fritter away customer good will. People don?t like feeling ripped off after buying something.I see some others have also had the same experience.

Having shopped in both Edinburgh and Keswick stores I have received nothing but top class service from the shop.A recent review complained about a Fjallraven Jacket. They aren't waterproof per se but treat them with wax and the jacket will last 10x a goretex jacket. Sorry you didn't get your money back but if you acted sensibly you'd understand how to buy the right kit. And look after it.

We have just received abysmal service from Nordic Outdoor Keswick. My husband bought a Fjallraven anorak 8 for £430.00 which is specified as water resistant. Water soaks through it, and when we complained, we were told that 'water resistant' does not mean 'water proof', that we should have been told this when we purchased the coat (we weren't), that we were not going to get our money back, and that we were intimidating. It was a present for my husband, and we are very sad and disappointed. The manager and the stock manager laughed at us.
