Like many centres, it's looking a little unloved, but the shops that remain are good and the place is generally tidy

Small shopping centre, has parking, greggs, poundland, Clarks shoes, toyshop, phone shops, optician, bookshop and a few others, access to bus station.

It's a pity most of it is closed, the council doesn't seem interested in bringing in any further business

A rather run down shopping centre, with multiple empty units. Escalators frequently out of action. A couple of nice units- a florist tucked away on the upper floor (edit- May 2022 - the florist shop is no longer there. Whether that's a relocation or another victim of the Westmorland Centre closing down curse, I do not know) and a specialist photographic goods shop. Elsewhere, just the usual suspects. The indoor market, just near the main entrance, is quirky and well worth a look.Edit - February 2024.The upper level is largely being converted into additional premises for Kendal College, with only a couple of shops (and the indoor market) remaining. Both escalators removed.
