Found this lovely place whilst on a drive back from Windermere. Lovely selection of drinks on draft. We order lots of picky foods for 3 of us to share and every single one was cooked Lovely tasted delicious ? Unfortunately the squid we ordered there wasn't enough but we were Informed this and still given them and refunded. Absolutely Top service ? We'll definitely be back again

Our first evening in Cumbria this was a local pub so thought we would pop in. My hubby ordered starter and main at same time unfortunately when the waitress said is that all together he thought he meant was that everything for now not starter and main arriving at the same time (our mistake). You have to get condiments salt and pepper, yourself off shelf which wasn't a problem. The mozzarella sticks were dry and not a lot of mozarella in them, Lidls and morrisons do better. Garlic mushrooms were ok not all breadcrumb casing had a mushroom in them a bit dry. Steak was ok didn't have a mushroom on plate as stated but had mushrooms for starters so not that bothered. Scampi was ok not sure what the coating was on the chips we asked for plain chips wasn't unpleasant just unusual, didnt like the mushy peas. Won't be returning.

We just came here to get some food with our little boy who?s 10 months the amount of wasps that were flying about inside trying to land on me and my little boy, looked outside the front and there were about 50+ wasps so clearly a nest, staff could see what was going on and was told and didn?t close the doors nor do anything to try and help!!! Not a nice place to sit in if there?s wasps flying about there was about 5 after us in the pub at one point

We got to The Duke after a repair of our camper in Kendal.
Had fries and Mozzarella sticks as starters, and a Goat's cheesa and carmelized onion pizza.
The food was exceptional. So tasty and crispy, and so was the service.
Highly recomended.
