Ordered two breakfasts, we took off a couple of things and then paid extra for one hash brown and one sausage (as an add on) waited over half and hour for our food, which when it arrived, was not what we ordered and was somehow both burnt and cold. We did receive a partial refund, and ate what was edible?

Do everyone in Kendal a favour and close this cafe. Worst cafe ever. Just wanted a coffee and a sandwich. Coffee machine still out of orderand sandwiches looked dry and inedible. I feel sorry for the staff.

Went to go for a breakfast. Was greeted by a machine. Ordered the big breakfast with no mushrooms or black pudding. Paid EXTRA for two slices of white toast, they never came. Asked where they were and they said do you have a receipt. Something the machine doesn?t give out. ?No receipt I can?t give you something you?ve paid money for? I spent 45 minutes waiting for my food which came out stale. Spent the next 10 minutes waiting for ketchup only for the waitress to walk past my table and take it off me without asking.

We have eaten here several times and never had a problem, today we did. My husband had the ultimate fish and chips and I had the steak pie and chips. Both very disappointing the mushy peas were a very strange shade of green and they were cold. Everything apart from the fish ( which was very nice, hot with a nice crispy batter) was cold. I ate the inside of the pie which was warmish but left everything else. Don?t recommend cold chips .And the coffee machine still broken so all in all not a good experience. Very helpful girl bringing the meals . As pensioners it?s a treat for us to eat out. Won?t be going back

Very cold in the cafe today. Under staffed so everyone was mucking in. What staff that was there were polite and apologetic about the broken heating. Food came out piping hot to my surprise and was lovely. Thank you for pulling out all the stops to carry on providing good service.

Dirty. Uncleared tables and food on floors without a member of staff in sight. A dreary place that should be avoided at all costs. The worst place in Kendal by a mile.

Heed the warnings of the other one star reviews.
We walk into at 8.55 on a weds (website says 8am), to see a sign stating "cafe closed today", despite staff seeing us wanting to go in. Ah well, went and got croissants.
Came out shortly after 9, and cafe is now open. Annoying but the croissants will be ok tomorrow so let's go for it...
I would highly recommend the self-service till; the staff on till was rude and couldn't hear us... but never took off the headset.
The staff who brought our order out was nice. The food was OK, although the eggs were very well done.

Slow service at the counter, 7 tables had people seated 10 tables were full of dirty plates etc. Three tables were clean to sit on. This was at 16. 20.Four staff on, one making drinks the other three, I don't know what. Nice new Costa, The Management needs to get a grip of the staff and teach basic skills. Very disappointed.

Awful gloomy place. No staff plus you are greeted by an electronic service point. Store was busy but the cafe certainly wasn't. I walked out. Good store. Good staff. Abysmal cafe.

Ordered poached eggs on toast, might have well of ordered boiled egg on toast. Rock hard eggs on dry toast (at least if it were buttered toast it might of helped) my companion has full English, was ok they said, but only for the bacon. Thick fatty rind , inedible, and again the fried egg was seemingly cooked for a solid 25 mins we waited. Rock hard.

Food looked Great and presented nicely. The staff did a fantastic job, it's not their fault they are understaffed (ie. take orders and cook food, so customers arriving after us wondered where staff was at till). The staff were super friendly and attentive.

Closed without any warning . Came in specially for cooked breakfast but couldn?t be bother to open that day. No warning on website or anything .

I got 5 pieces of bbq chicken wings and every single one of them is black as F and got more bone than meat, like there?s F all meat on them and there menna be chicken wings, sort your S out Morrisons, very disappointed
