“Not the largest Home Bargains store but larger than it looks from the outside. Decent choice of their usual household items at decent prices, what you'd expect from HB.”

“For a small Spar this place has a great selection of fresh fruit and veg, canned products, baked products, snacks, ice cream, beers, cider, lagers, perry, spirits such as vodka and whisky, wine, tobacco, and other things you may expect from a Spar including great value LED torches, and the staff are super friendly. Only downside is due to the age of the building there are some steps inside as well as entering the building. The Bryson's steak slices are particularly good too!”

“I come to the Lake district every year from London and the bakery is incredible. Very friendly staff and amazing baked goods. Best carrot cake and chocolate floorboards I have ever tasted!! (You can't get chocolate floorboards in London so never get rid of them please haha)”

“Rich, from Tesco Express in Kendal is worthy of a mention. After a frustrating morning trying to get a response from Ambleside & Bowness (worse here, phone is off the hook) the phone in Kendal was answered within 4 rings. Not only did he do a stock availability check in his store, he offered to check the other stores just to save me the extra miles. It made all the difference to the cost of a tub of ice cream! Thank you! Well done!!”

“I love the Booths chain of supermarkets. It’s good quality food, i love that lots of items are locally sourced in Lancashire, Cumbria & Yorkshire. This store is centrally located for Kendal town centre & has a 2 level car park (great underground parking for hot days or anyone with dogs).”

“The only thing wrong in Asda,is the fact there are NOT enough tills operated! I don't want to do a large shop, then have to scan it myself. Being disabled I am unable to do this so I would shop elsewhere...”

“I just popped in to use the toilet but it had to be one of the best poops I have had!! The flush action on the toilet was superb and you could tell that the managers do the hourly checks as there was a fresh lemony scent in the air and I could see my face in the toilet bowl!! I will excuse the pubic hair on the toilet seat as I am not to sure if it was mine...but overall I had a lovely poo so I would give Morrisons 10 stars if I could!! Thank you”
