Went for Sunday lunch today and really enjoyed it. Choice of 3 roast meats as well as an extensive menu. The service was friendly and we really liked everything.

We have just returned from a 2 night break. We couldn?t praise The Pheasant high enough. The staff, without exception, were so welcoming; friendly; fun & professional. The Hotel has a very relaxed feel; the gardens are glorious; the food was delicious & the Winter Break offers amazing value for money. We were blown away by it all & can?t wait to go back again.

Dont know about rooms as didn?t stay.Called for a meal and drink.Paid £15 for one pint of lager and a single gordons gin and tonic. This amounted to a rather greedy £10 profit for The Pheasant. Meal was nice but pleased to have ordered extras (£8) as no veg or chips accompanied it. Service was good. Came away feeling somewhat disappointed and ripped off. Im sure they can claim to justify their prices with a dozen reasons - but the bottom line is that they charge what they want because they can.Edit:Conversely - bought exactly the same drinks in a popular touristy pub in the Yorkshire Dales last week for less than half the price! Says it all really!!!Edit after reply:Thank you for your reply. As suspected - you cant justify your exorbitant bar prices at all can you?

This was our second stay after being pleasantly surprised by our last minute booking last year. It was great to see some of the same team still in place and the warm and helpful welcome as good as ever. This is not a fancy hotel or boutique B&B. It?s not a gastro-pub pushing the boundaries. If however you want the basics done well in a beautiful place, where the well stocked bar is populated by well walked dogs and their owners contentedly unwinding after the day, and where the food is not the fanciest but consistently good with enough choice then I?d highly recommend.

Came here for a late lunch at 1:00pm and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Staff were friendly and service was quick and good. You definitely get your moneys worth in terms of size of portion, however this can work both ways as for example a ?kid sized roast beef? (which has little difference in size with an adult portion) could prove to be quite difficult to finish for a child. Food was of a brilliant quality and like stated earlier well worth the money. I did not stay overnight so I cannot comment on the rooms.Food & drinks: .Brilliant quality.Well valued
