We didn't have a reservation but they kindly accomodated us on a busy Friday eve. Attentive staff and lovely food. We will certainly go again when in the area.

We had an excellent family meal here while passing through on our way to Edinburgh ? a much-needed and far more enjoyable alternative to a typical service station stop. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, even offering my sons darts to play with without us needing to ask. The food was outstanding, served in generous, hearty portions. Highlights included the perfectly cooked steak and chips with peppercorn sauce, warm baguette generously filled with prawn cocktail, and the homemade sticky toffee pudding. May well have to make a detour here on our way back to London.

We've been coming to the smithy for Sunday lunch for about 6 months and don't look any further.Great friendly atmosphere and service ,easy booking and just the best roast dinner in miles.We are always offered the main menu but can't get past Sunday specials and great deserts,great job guys ,already looking forward to next time ..Ray mcknight
