We are a local family who have visited many times before. Arrived at midday on a summer weekday as a group of 8 (including elderly grandparent) with several tables free. Asked politely to move a chair from one table to another and it is hard to believe how rude the owner was in response. She told my mum that we couldn?t sit together and that ?it?s my garden darling - there?s a pub next door if you don?t like it? in front of all other guests, which visibly upset her. If this is how you treat visitors, expect to be the only one left in your garden. Will never be returning.

A great little find after parking in Mungrisdale to walk Blencathra.
After a 3.5 hour walk a cup of tea and cake was very much needed and it didn?t disappointment.
I had a cream tea which was delicious and my partner had the coffee and walnut cake which he said was the best he?d had.
A small business ran by husband and wife who were lovely and very welcoming.
Very well worth supporting if you?re in the area.

Excellent refreshments and service in garden. To the person who left a 1 star review, how could you rate something without experiencing it? . Open air service is weather dependent and subject to the likelihood of having customers!

The cutest little spot with beautiful scenery and the sound of the river running near by. Service was fantastic and the cake 10/10. Definitely what we needed after a long day walking. Highly recommended.

A lovely spot run by a very friendly couple! We enjoyed huge pots of tea, scones and cake here after a day in the fells. Definitely recommend stopping by on a sunny day.

Great little tea room with a good choice of reasonably priced snack food and drinks. Very friendly staff. Beautifully clean and well maintained. Will definitely call in again when in Penrith.

Amazing tasty food with a very good amount for the money. Great assortments of drinks and food. Plenty in each teapot for a few cups.
