We are a local family who have visited many times before. Arrived at midday on a summer weekday as a group of 8 (including elderly grandparent) with several tables free. A great little find after parking in Mungrisdale to walk Blencathra.
After a 3.5 hour walk a cup of tea and cake was very much needed and it didn’t disappointment.
I had a cream tea which was delicious and my partner had the coffee and walnut cake which he said was the best he’d had.

Excellent refreshments and service in garden. To the person who left a 1 star review, how could you rate something without experiencing it? . Open air service is weather dependent and subject to the likelihood of having customers!
