Great venue in a beautiful town
Poor service. Don?t go on change over from breakfast to Lunch.
Had to send one meal back and sandwich had no thought to it.
Finished 3 coffees before food served and at a premium price not asked once how the food was.
Shame really

Food contamination - i have been very sick after breakfast. Plus they put onion and garlic in the tomato sauce for the pizza.. unbelievable

Absolutely brilliant! Food was very tasty, fresh, and quick to arrive. I had the fish stew which was delicious, and my partner had the chicken supreme which was equally tasty.
Desserts were fresh and out of this world!
Staff were very friendly, chatty, and attentive.
Can't recommend enough!

I'd travel a long way for a flat white coffee here. Great value and in a mug. No short measure.
It was wonderful and the best flat white I've had in many years.

This is the place to eat in Hawkshead! Utterly delicious food served by super friendly and welcoming staff. It has a lovely atmosphere and my dog was welcome too. Highly recommend.

Been here a few times over the years. Been again this week whilst on holiday. The food is amazing, and what made it this time was a particular young man on the staff team who looked after us - extra pleasant and engaging and I noticed the same service with all other customers

Just had my lunch here as a sole female. Sat inside as i though it was cute with the bright decor. I had a superb glass of sauvignon, lovely and crisp in a large shapely wine glass. Food, i had Hallumi and avocado on sourdough with extra chorizo, it was absolutely delicious. I finished off my lovely lunch with a piping hot cappuccino. Felt nice and comfortable on my own, got chatting to a lovely couple with their three gorgeous dogs ( yes, it's dog friendly ) so, overall a very pleasant experience and i will be back. Thank you x

Great little spot for a light lunch. Although they were full they quickly found us a table. Service was quick and efficient. The food was freshly cooked and tasty. The prices were very kind to the pocket.

Brunch...food was delicious. Really impressed . Has the cheese hash brown side, very good. Chorizo and whipped feta and a full English. All really good quality, excellent flavours and hot and fresh..

Great food and coeliac friendly!! Visited 3 times during our week in Hawkshead. Partner is coeliac, such a relief to find a safe place to eat! We had dinner, coffee & cake and a breakfast, all with gf options. Friendly staff, good atmosphere!

Poppi Red in the centre of hawkshead is a well located centre eatery.
We nipped in for lunch and had a cajun sandwich. So first, the great points:
Very friendly staff, great decor, good selection of foods and options. Clean facilities and toilets and overall great atmosphere. Large indoor area and outdoor area, too.
Overall 5/5 for the eatery.
The only bad point (for me) we nipped in for lunch. Had a cajun sandwich and roast potatoes. Potatos were ok (new potatos roasted, not crispy), and the cajun sandwich was OK but tasted more like a very mild peri peri (for the record. I may be critical here after eating cajun food regularly, esp in New Orleans) but it was OK
For quick lunch, there may be better and cheaper in the village (it's a busy village though, so don't let that put you off this place at all). But if you fancy a bit fancier and indoors, it's worth a visit.
Not to our taste, but we were told pizza was great by quite a few local places, and all in all, try it out. Next time we are back, we will try the pizza.
