After a very rainy walk to Easedale Tarn we trudged up to LanCragg to refuel.
Two decent pizzas, hot coffee and cakes later we were refreshed and warmer.
Lovely cafe, not a great deal of space inside but benches outside when the weather is kinder.
Great service but we only had a choice of 4 pizzas si really a snack bar.
Coffee was perfect

We stopped here for a drink on our way back to Grasmere from Helm Crag. It's a lovely location and the coffee was very good, but be aware that we were charged a £1 supplement each for having oat milk. This is the highest supplement that we have ever been charged and seems excessive.

It looked lovely and we were excited by the great reviews but sadly when we arrived they couldn?t offer us lunch. Apparently there weren?t any guests at the hotel so there wasn?t any food they could offer for a lunch menu. It?s a shame as it is in a great location!
Moral of the story is phone before you go!

Sumptuous and relaxed lunch after a long walk.
Despite the Google map and help from passersby in the neighbourhood, it took us a while to get to the restaurant as there was no board that said 'Poet's cafe'.
But that was all. We loved the food, service with a smile, and the ambience. It was well worth the effort to get there. Thank you.

Beautiful place. Good coffee and good beer. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We can't speak highly enough of them.

Visited the Poet's Cafe at Lancrigg a handful of times after walks in the area.Amazing food, good coffee, staff are always friendly.I came in on Monday, I think it was just before they were about to close, but the lovely guy behind the bar said it was alright for me to stay and have a coffee. Really appreciated it, thank you!I would definitely recommend :)

£9 for a little bowl of soup and 2 slices with more holes than bread! Taste was average, nothing special. Also charging £6 for parking. Didn?t show us a menu or prices to take our order. If your wallet is weighing you down they?ll soon empty it for you.

Had a lovely restorative late lunch after a rainy hike. Delicious soup and crusty bread served by cheerful and attentive Serene. We really enjoyed the experience!
