Disappointing food - hard scone, mushy apple pie and very strong tea in a two person pot which barely served two people. Staff a bit off-hand and when I spoke to one member of staff about the pretty awful state of one of the toilets I had only said about three words, two of which were ?excuse me?, when she said ?what?? In a pretty snappy manner. Wouldn?t bother going back.

Lovely setting but terrible coffee and massively variable in strength and heat over the 4 coffees we ordered.

I recommend visiting to sit outside by the river. The water is beautiful and clear and you can see the cute bridge and church.
We visited for coffee and cake. Everything we ordered was tasty.
Staff were friendly and service was quick.
It was quite warm under the plastic awening because it was a very hot day.

We had an outside table overlooking water and on a pleasant summer day, it was idyllic. Order at counter giving table number. Fast service and good quality food.

It felt like this was just a money-making cafe and not a traditional Grassmere experience that you expect from the outside, shame, but I won't be going back.

Bit of a shame to pay so much for a black tea for it to just be a teabag in the pot (and taste like it too). Otherwise nice spot though small terrace, not sure where the gardens are...

Rude service let a couple of our coach have a table then told us they was closed

Had lunch here during a tour of Northern England. Tour guide recommended trying sausage items & described the uniqueness of Cambria sausage...so I got the sausage roll & a side Salad. The sausage roll was quite delicious & so was the salad. The staff were very friendly & upbeat. It's close to Sarah Nelson's Gingerbread Shop & William Wordsworth's Daffodil Garden

Called in here for a bit of lunch. It was lovely & bright. Spotlessly clean.
The staff were lovely.

Unfortunately when we tried to go in at 14.30, we were greeted with a bit fat ?we?re closed? sign. Apparently they ?close early ? during winter, but that could mean 2pm or 3pm. Basically they close whenever they feel to. Very poor service.
