We stayed at Uplands Inn whilst cycling The Lakes and Dales Loop.
It?s a perfect location, right on the route.
There is secure bike storage.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast to start the day.
Competitively priced.

Location is lovely.
Left 3 voicemails to book, finally managed via e mail and only given one option of a time.
Arrived, restaurant empty, wasn?t really greeted enthusiastically.
Roast beef dinner, not hot, but tasty, plate was cold and beef served with chicken flavoured gravy. Left most of it because I can?t abide cold food with congealed cold gravy and veg. Roast potatoes could?ve done with actually being roasted but just felt like I was eating boiled potatoes dunked in a deep fat fryer for a short period, not crispy whatsoever. Was disappointed as was looking forward to it. We?re up here 40 weeks if the year, can?t see me rushing back although always give a restaurant a second chance.

This hotel/restaurant is in an idyllic spot in Cartmel. Fabulous views. Lovely garden. We called for a Saturday lunch but were disappointed that they only served pizzas. (Which I don't like) Had to find somewhere else to eat!! Even if they'd done soup and sandwiches we would have stayed just to enjoy the beautiful views!!

Lovely Hotel had a lovely time staff fantastic bbq was lovely our only criticism is it's a bit messy as you pull up in the carpark apart from that perfect. Well done staff

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. Comfortable room, lovely staff, good breakfast, comfortable bar area, great view from patio, very relaxing to sit and watch the world go by. Has live music some nights, and others a barbecue on the patio. Friendly owners.
Rooms: Most rooms have been refurbished, and are quite large compared to most hotels. Really comfortable bed. Large bathroom with both bath and shower enclosure in the room we had.

A gem of a place. Owners very hospitable. It was a Birthday treat for my partner and upon rival in our room we found a complimentary bottle of chilled Prosecco in our room. The room was to an excellent standard. The food was really good. Breakfast a very good selection, fresh and cooked to perfection.
Taxis are not easy to get. A walk to the race course is about 1 mile but there
are no pavements and the walk is one to watch.
We needed a taxi on the day we was leaving but was unable to get any so Denise who works at the hotel kindly offered to drive us to the station at Cark & Cartmel.
