Beautiful hotel?
September 2023 by Tahiti_Green
Friendly and efficient check-in. Spacious bedroom with top quality fitted furniture and very comfortable bed. Sash window was broken and had to be wedged open with a shoe. Tiny shower ?room? (cupboard?) where my knees touched the shower screen when I sat on the toilet. Decent breakfast cooked to order. Check-out uninterested in us. Did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay or where we were going next. Unlikely to return as so disappointed with the shower ?room?.

The hotel is quite old so some of the features are a bit quirky but it retains some lovely period architecture and pieces which are well maintained and the place is very clean. There are two very comfortable relaxation lounges. The owners and staff are very efficient and friendly, breakfast is generous and well cooked. Only slight downside is the bathroom and shower cubicle are on the small side but as place to stay a pleasant flat walk out of Cartmel then it's recommended.

A great place to stay if attending the Cartmel races. Rooms aren't massive but if going to the races you don't need a big room. They could do with an upgrade as don't have many standard equipment such as sufficient sockets for plugging in phone chargers, had to unplug the alarm clock which wasn't an issue, just awkward. The public areas/lounge is quaint and bijoux, wonderful if with friends. The manager has a knowledge of local information and stays up late to keep the booze running through the night. Breakfast was good, full English and black pudding but also have freshly made porridge. No beans, good by me but I'm sure they'll provide if you a sk for them.Rooms: Basic and needs upgrade but ok as wasn't in it for too long. The location is the reason for the trip.Nearby activities: Cartmel races and all of the local pubs, restaurants and walks are all readily accessible. The good weather makes the activities more pleasurable.Walkability: Need a car ideally but there are lots of walks around the racecourse and this delightful lakes location.Food & drinks: Breakfasts great but lots of other food outlets such as Rogan & Co nearby.

Had a couple of drinks at the bar and I was very pleased with the service. I could not fault the staff, everyone was very polite and the Manor and it's surroundings are beautiful. Thank you very much.

Such a beautiful place, the room was huge and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. It was incredible peaceful and we totally relaxed. Chris went above and beyond to cater for our needs and nothing was too much trouble. An excellent breakfast cooked to perfection

We stumbled upon Aynesome Manor quite by accident and so wish we?d found it years ago Chris and Andrea are the most perfect hosts and we felt totally at home, in fact, this is the mostly relaxing hotel I?ve ever stayed in . The breakfast was superb , as was the service and nothing was too much trouble Highly recommended

We have been guests at Aynesome Manor Hotel many times over the years and have always enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. This year the owners Chris and Andrea Varley changed the format and became a licensed B and B.We stayed on Saturday the 13th of May and wondered whether our stay would be as good as it has been in the past. There was no need to have had any such concern. Chris and Andrea were the perfect hosts and the new format works a treat with Chris and Andrea going above and beyond to ensure that we had as good a time as ever and the hearty breakfast was delicious. Although the scrumptious dinners are no longer served it is easy to eat elsewhere on an evening and then return to the hotel for a convivial drink or two with other guests ( and Chris and Andrea are more than happy to book restaurants and taxis ). This is no ordinary B and B . It is top class and I cannot recommend it too highly . I hope that Chris and Andrea's new venture is a big success . There is no doubt that they deserve it. We felt very much at home the minute we arrived to a friendly and warm welcome. Our hosts, Chris and Andrea could not have been more helpful and are clearly experienced hoteliers. Our room was spacious and well appointed with the all-important comfortable bed; we slept very well. The enjoyable experience continued over a sumptuous breakfast in a stunning dining room and again a high standard of service and attention to detail was evident. There is a clear passion and desire to provide guests with an historic country house experience and we certainly enjoyed our all too brief stay. We will definitely return as it is a real find. Highly recommended.

Great weekend at the lovely Aynsome hotel, Chris and Andrea are such good hosts and make everyone feel so welcome. They are no longer providing evening meals but that doesn?t stop their attention to detail. In my opinion the best place to stay in Cartmel

My husband and I have just had a two night B&B stay at Aynsome Manor which is nestled in the most scenic of countryside. Chris and Andrea Varley gave us a very warm welcome and we?re most helpful with regard to local amenities. Our room was spacious and well appointed with delightful views. The fire in the downstairs lounge gave a warming ambiance especially for a relaxing read. Breakfast offered all that one could wish for. We highly recommend Aynsome Manor to anyone who is looking for accommodation in the South Lakes.
