Great pub with spectacular views. A little outside of the lively Glenridding and Ullswater. Highly recommend for an authentic pub experience.

Lovely pub with a great selection of beers, friendly staff and quick service!
We had the golden ale on cask and it was perfectly moreish, the staff were happy to help and even though it was busy they made sure to keep everyone happy.
We also had food.
I had a pie, it was an expetional display of the feeling you get after clocking off work on monday, a week out in scunthorpe if you will. It had calories and had gravy on it, a pure display of what it feels like to live a suburban white lifestyle. The chips, potato with a slight crunch, cooked in oil. The gravy, a sauce of meatiness and savoury notes. Last but neither top or least, the pie. Pastry with meat on it. I ate it with mustard.
Travellers Rest: A pub that has good beer, friendly staff and food that you can eat if you want.

No food eaten by us, but the people next door loved there's. Portion sizes lookd good to. Atmosphere nice. Staff friendly. Reasonably priced drinks. Definitely recommend after a hard day's walking.

We stopped there for food because of good reviews. The location is great with views over the nearby hills. And nothing else about this place. The food was so bad making us sick for the rest of a day. We had a burger with chips tasted awuf. Couldn't be eaten at all. And when our nearly full plates were taken back, no one even asked if everything was ok.

Ok...so you feel like youre going into the heavens as you drive up the road to this lovely little pub...but dont be fooled...there's a large outdoor seating area...PERFECT for summer drinks. The views are amazing...the drinks are always flowing and the food is very well priced for the bounty you receive. The travellers rest burger....beef burger..and im talking MEATY!! burger......cheese..egg...pineapple...beetroot and salad! Quite a concoction but flaming nora it was AMAZING!

Absolutely stunning scenery wonderful atmosphere with everyone in the same place enjoying the walking, however the pub was not very clean tables sticky, the frozen food was expensive we had fish and chips and to be fair the fish hadn?t had a swim for at least twelve months, the drinks were comparable with other hostelries in the area, the one bar staff the business has was run off his feet and the customers were queuing outside the door yet the barman remained very calm and cheerful

Great pub among the mountains. Food was absolutely amazing one of the best steak pies and hearty dinners I?ve had from a pub. Lovely atmosphere and good price. Only down side is parking is very minimal (only 3-4 spaces and no parking on the roads)

Fabulous Gluten free food, wonderful staff and the best view to drink to, plus lots of 0 percent offerings.

Pedestrian food. Steak pie not bad but most likely heated in microwave. Tuna sandwich looked good though. Short barman was argumentative over a white wine spritzer. Couldn?t help but feel he didn?t like women much and he wouldn?t have questioned a man in the same tone. The view from out side seating was lovely
