Really great food, pricey but very good so no complaints, staff were lovely. Would recommend turning down or even better turning off Sky News, doesnt make for holiday vibes.

The Ramblers is nice but doesn?t have lake side seating, but you?re permitted through the main reception into the bar at the back where you can enjoy a splendid lakeside view!

Popped in here after a walk, there was 13 of us so quite a big group but only one or two other couples in the bar. Ordered food and drinks and a couple of the drinks were wrong, we mentioned to one waiter who said ?I just bring the drinks out? and then the waiter who took our order came out with more drinks (which were again incorrect) so we asked for the correct drinks to be told ?no you ordered diet?. Both waiters then went back to the bar and began talking about it very loud. This made my entire group feel very uncomfortable. Food wasn?t that great for the price. Would not recommend.

Brilliant stay the manager of the orangery is great. So helpful and attentive, especially when we have a little baby.

Thank you for having me in the Hiker's Bar this afternoon. Felt very welcome, all the staff were professional and incredibly polite. On a rare day off, the bar was a nice vibe for me while catching up with admin duties, and the real ale was very well kept. See you again next time I am working from Glenridding.

This is situated as part of the inn on the lake, ullswater. Beautiful hotel. Went to a wedding then later on in the candle room. Its a lovely space to hold a party.

We had a late lunch here and it was very busy. Fortunately, we managed to get a table, as others arriving after us were not so lucky! Would recommend booking in advance.
The food and service here was really good and they have a nice selection of food available. The chicken fajitas and pork tostada were very tasty, as was the lemon drizzle loaf cake to finish

One of my favourite places to visit in the Lakes. Lovely food including some vegan options, lovely drinks, enclosed beer garden and a newly built play area which will keep kids busy all day. Slightly pricey but worth it for a treat.

Reviews suggested this was the best place for dinner in Glenridding. Looked expensive but was happy to take the risk, hoping the food would live up to the price. It did not.
We ordered steak and chips, fish and chips and two glasses of wine for a total of £70. We live in London so are used to prices like this but I would expect some serious quality food. None of it tasted fresh, most likely all frozen. Sachets of condiments like a service station. Order at the bar at this price? Crazy. Sauces tasted like they came pre made from a catering supplier.
The worst was we found some cling film in the garlic butter. I brought it to the staff?s attention and without much apology they took the plate away to the kitchen for the chef to remove it. Then brought it back and said ?sorry the kitchen is under pressure at the moment? (it wasn?t very busy!) and ?obviously the garlic butter isn?t made on site so it comes in a plastic wrapper? (why isn?t it made on site at this price?!). We were asked if we wanted a new steak but declined and just carried on. It was only 5 minutes later the waiter came back and offered us a free dessert as an apology. We didn?t want any more food so he refunded our wine.
Not a great experience. We went home to our hotel ?The Ullswater Inn? and the food being served in the restaurant there looked probably just as good but for half the price and with a much better atmosphere.
Sorry, can?t recommend.

Just stopped for a coffee while I waited for the bus to Penrith. Outside looks really cool and inside was very clean and well looked after, and the staff were lovely.

From an events DJ prospective, the Ramblers has an amazing atmosphere.
It's dance floor is very easy to fill. Often have the dance floor full just after the guests enter the room at 19:00

After tonight?s meal I wouldn?t!
Waited for 2 hours for a great steak, as advised by the staff it would be, only to be given a poor quality meal, fatty steak, overcooked chips and burnt onion rings. Bar staff were gutted and did inform the kitchen but to no avail. Positive note, the wainwrights amber was spot on.
