The best of many good rump steaks so far. A good menu choice inc a 2 or 3 course menu. This along with a wide selection of fine ales and excellent wines, makes The Stork an ideal affordable place to eat. Also the team are always so welcoming including our 4 legged friends ... Highly recommended. Thank you

Warm welcome awaits all guests. Lovely food, good sized twin room, quiet country location which is ideal for exploring the surrounding areas.

Five stars in all the areas that most visitors would look for - cleanliness, comfortable bed, great shower, good breakfast and evening meal and on top of that it is a real pub with a friendly clientele ( and when we were there, a real fire! ) What really makes it that bit special though, are the hosts Joan and Paul who obviously work hard to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. It is also well situated to visit not only the various `lakes`, but also the coast with such places as St Bees. Recommend without hesitation.

The Stork Hotel gave us a friendly greeting that really made us feel welcome. The hotel has a pub bar that is warm, cozy and actually has some character, not the generic bar of a bistro pub. Our room was compact, but had plenty of storage and a nice bathroom en-suite. Tea and coffee were supplied and the room was very clean. We had dinner and the food was excellent, good quality British food and in generous portions - just what you need after a hard days walk. The breakfast in the morning was also first class and will really set you up for the day. For those looking for a stay over in the lakes it is hard to fault this place. A clean and comfortable room and bed, good wholesome food and a friendly welcome, just what a tired walker needs.

We stopped one night at the Stork Hotel which was comfortable and good value for money. Our breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We were made to feel very welcome by the husband and wife team who run the hotel who were so friendly and chatty and full of great advice about the area.

Just back from a short stay in the lakes and the Stork Hotel was our base. Short drive to Cockermouth, whitehaven and Keswick. Lovely rooms at the Stork Hotel and spotlessly clean and the hosts so friendly and welcoming. Had dinner at the hotel both nights and food was outstanding, Home cooked and delicious. Huge full english breakfast in the morning. Would definately reccomend a stay.
