Rooms were very clean. But it was expensive for an outdated room and not great food. No plug sockets next to the beds. The kettle was unsafe as it didn't shut off when the water was boiled. The water pressure was terrible and you couldn't get cold water from the tap for the dog.

You will need to read the directions as it is set back from the main road. My satnav gave me a tour of Cockermouth after missing it! 1st impression was of smashed car window glass all over parking bay I was to pull in to & a van window close by all taped up. Brought back memories of my visit to the area some 10 years ago. So removed absolutely everything from my car. Unfortunately it took 3 attempts to get in my room as I was given the wrong room twice and walked into an occupied room! Third attempt up /down stairs was successful. My bedroom /bathroom were clean and spacious. I thought my room was large and sunny and overall the hotel had a nice feel. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast the next morning too and enjoyed using the hotel as a base for visiting the Lakes area generally.

Don't make the mistake of pre payng as this stops you from frequenting other restaurants in the area as this one does not fit for purpose . I was there for 3 days half board with my wife. 1st day beef and ale pie with mashed potato. the mashed potato was instant . the desert was adequate. 2nd day I had roast chicken - the roast chicken was dry , the third day was a classic, the ran out of sugar

Travelodge Cockermouth is a great place to stay on your visit to the western Lakes. It was very comfortable and had a great breakfast to start the day off for us. Will definitely be staying there again

Let's start positive, great location close enough to town and amenities and nice bacon. The room was decent size but very basic, plenty of cob webs and dust behind tv and in the hinges, tv needs an update and travelodge trim was stained, typhoo tv what? is this the 90's ?. No brown sugar, down for breakfast 'unlimited '? yeah right, you can have any type of egg as long as its scrambled. For nearly a £100 crisp notes per night I expect better.

It was okay for one night's stay. The bedding wS clean and comfortable although it was very basic. No comfortable chairs just plastic garden chairs. Towels were provided along with basic soap. Tea and coffee was available, but struggled with the lead on the kettle as very short and difficult to plug in.

We just stayed there. On day one, at brekkies, there was only Apricot jam. i asked for strawberry or raspberry jam. Answer, from a gentleman called Mark was apologetic, the last delivery had not resupplied them with this item. Then he looked over my shoulder told me that he could see a delivery lorry down the hill and on its way. He then put on helmet, jacket and rucksack and cycled down the hill to the delivery lorry to collect the box of jams, opened it and brought the strawberry jam cartons to my table. A girl on the staff told me that, if the lorry had not been there, he would have cycled to a shop and bought a jar. Customer focussed or what!! I was impressed. Senior management take note: look after this gentleman or a competitor will grab him.

Hotel seemed tired and dated, broken TV remote and soap dispensers, room very noisy as we were above the kitchen Fans / motors droning all night, be prepared to sit outside for meals and drinks only 2 rickety old picnic benches, no parasols but lots of cigarette ends swirling around like tumbleweed :-(

When we arrived we took a shower. It was cold. Raised with hotel. Told boiler wasn?t turned on. Plug sockets in our room were not working. No hair dryer as standard had to ask for one. Hand soap dispenser had no soap in it. Breakfast was not well stocked. Orange juice tasted like orange flavoured water. Fruit on offer was soft and our daughter did not approve. There was mould in the bathroom. The heat is from a convection heater and a bed was placed in front of it. When we asked for a refresh of tea and coffee and towels it was not done properly and received no tea or coffee and only two towels. All in all for three people staying at n the room and the two plug sockets not working and this being the digital age it was not great. The bed felt awful. Room wasn?t tidied daily.

I wanted to say a massive thankyou to Chris who was on night duty night of 26/8/23-27/08/23. I arrived at 2.30am desperate for somewhere to stay. We had been badly let down by a cottage booking company and left with no where to stay. Chris did his very best to try to find us a room somewhere but unfortunately everywhere was booked and we had to drive home 300 miles. Chris went above and beyond to help us out and I am very grateful.

Previous guest?s boxer shorts found in bathroom. Guest going for a wee in the bin at the main door to the hotel. Overall cleanliness was very poor, carpets dirty, soap dispenser in bathroom empty, tables in restaurant sticky.

Have stayed here a few times in the past. The hotel is on a business park so is pretty quiet on the whole. Mainly families staying during in the holidays but didn't experience any noise during the night or early morning. Had a good nights sleep but did find the room a bit stuffy although an extra fan was provided. Fine if you want somewhere quick and easy to stay. Didn't eat here but went to the nearby Brewer Fayre for a meal.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed. Bed was comfortable and noise levels were non existent, despite the hotel being full. Staff were friendly and adjoining bar and restaurant were very good. All in all a great option for a budget break.

Excellent location , just off the A road but close to Cockermouth . Welcoming and helpful staff . Lovely breakfast room with views to the hills , and a great buffet . Access to hot drinks . Dog friendly rooms which is great if you have a dog (as we do) , but the breakfast area is not dog friendly , so breakfast was done in relay !

4 guys on golf break in Penrith and Keswick found this location perfect. Staff prepared to help with nightcap drinks was appreciated. Comfortable and clean. 15 minutes walk into town centre so great. Very quiet location.
