I travelled to the Lake District earlier this year on my first solo trip. I visited Friars as part of a tour to Keswick, and I was spellbound by the products on offer! I bought so many gifts that I had a job getting them home on the train. The Christmas book hamper I bought was won by a client and collected today. He was delighted with the contents, as am I! Thank you so much for making my trip so special.

Amazing selection of chocolates and biscuits. Not good for the diet but you've got to treat yourself.?

I'm not really sure what this shop is trying to be as there is too much diversification distracting away from the chocolates - 'Prosecco Princess' keyrings, wooden ducks and other prepack items shouldn't really live in an independent chocolate shop.
Whilst it smells nice in the shop, the offering is highly priced and a little tacky.

Brilliant, friendly service.
After visiting 'The Old Bank Chocolate Shop' 2 minutes away the day beforehand and being treated like rubbish, I was warmly welcomed and served at Friars :)
There were a lovely selection of gift boxes too and I even found a couple which were the same as in the other chocolate shop, but at half the price!

Amazing choice of chocolate, fudge, sweets, lollys. Honestly a don't k ow what they don't have here.
You have to visit here if you're in the area. It's like a tourist attraction itself.

Average chocolates, doesn?t taste much better than boxed one from supermarkets. The price is quite reasonable though, got 8 truffles for £6, but was not that good after all

I do recommend in that the chocolates are nice packaged well and arrived when they said. But although the chocolates are good I don?t think they are really special enough to justify the high price tag. They were quite good but I found many to be quite sickly and didn?t really taste of any specific flavour. I probably won?t order again for the price v taste

I would recommend friars having placed many orders for the last 5 years.
However, was very disappointed that due to a glitch of some sort I didn?t receive the free penguins, the only thing my daughter had asked to get, I did put in the offer code but it didn?t show on my order on trying to put it back in it said offer code had been added. You then presume that order must be ok, then don?t receive the free penguins. On calling was told can?t take your word for it so you can?t have them as it?s not on your order. Have order over £2000 of sweets in last 5 years so not likely to be trying to con them out of a freebie. Very disappointed today with their customer service which has always been first class

Great quality chocolates at respectable prices. It may cost that little bit more to support a local establishment but it's worth the money, plenty of variety for not just treating yourself but providing birthday/Christmas gifts for others. Customer service was good as well, looking forward to attending once again.

Massive place and love the assortment of Sweets there! Defo recommend and will love to go back.
