We came back to visit for the first time since our wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our meal - although knowing deserts before ordering would be handy so I could have decided on Starter/Dessert!!

An Evening of Pure Delight at The Fleece.
Our recent Friday night at The Fleece At Ruleholme was nothing short of spectacular, an experience that truly surpassed all expectations. From the moment we stepped through the door, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and utterly charming. The Fleece truly embodies a modern yet elegant take on the traditional Lakeland Inn, blending contemporary luxury with rustic charm seamlessly.
The culinary journey was, as always, exquisite. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavour. Every course was a testament to the skill and dedication of the kitchen team, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dining at The Fleece is consistently a highlight, and this visit was no exception.
However, what truly elevated our evening to unforgettable heights was the captivating presence of the incredible Sophie Mac. Her performance during dinner was an absolute highlight, transforming a wonderful meal into a truly enchanting experience. Sophie's voice is simply mesmerising ? pure, soulful, and effortlessly elegant. She graced the room with a repertoire that perfectly complemented the sophisticated ambiance, creating a relaxed and joyful backdrop to our dining.
Her ability to engage and entertain the audience was remarkable, and many around us were clearly enthralled by her talent. Sophie Mac is a true gem, and her performance was the perfect addition to an already perfect evening.
The staff at The Fleece deserve immense praise as well. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine warmth made us feel incredibly valued. From the welcoming greetings to the seamless service throughout our meal, every interaction was a pleasure.
The Fleece At Ruleholme is more than just a place to dine; it's an experience to savour. With its beautiful surroundings, delectable food, impeccable service, and the added magic of live entertainment like the phenomenal Sophie Mac, it truly offers an incomparable evening of hospitality.
We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Second time we have stated and it is still first class, so relaxing, and friendly staff, the rooms are beautiful. Can't wait till we come back.

We did not stay at the Fleece overnight but went across for the afternoon for Sunday lunch, which was excellent. It was Cooked really well and had very generous portions.
The staff accommodated the requests of two of our party and were very attentive.
Everyone commented on how good the food was including the puddings.
The place has ample parking and was conveniently located to allow us all to meet up.

We got married at the fleece on the 22nd of june and what an amazing day we had!
Everything was perfect and the staff were amazing especially jade! The food was even better than on our wedding tasting!
We can't thank them enough for everything and we would also 100% recommend to anyone looking at getting married to have look at the fleece!

Stayed here twice on the way and returning from a trip to Scotland. Dog friendly room was very nice and easily accessible. The place itself is lovely. All the staff were very friendly and engaging. Had afternoon tea on the first day, which was well presented. Had dinner on the return trip and, again, attentive staff and good food. Cumbria breakfast was very well prepared. Had eggs benedict one morning. It was ok. The muffin was hard, so let the overall experience down, only very slightly. Would definitely return.

Can only coment on the restaurant and not the rooms etc,a very lovely place i remember it before it was all redone and wow what an improvement beautiful.
Went in mid week for my birthday lovely meal but sadly the serving staff got our drinks order wrong and opened a bottle of preseco that the cork flew off and missed my face only just,we all laughed about it but the young lad had no idea how to open a bottle properly and said thats never happend before rather than sorry,we could here them laughing about it while we were eating but i wonderd where there management' was, there didn't seem to be anyone over seeing anything our table was pounced on by 3 differnt waiters at different intervals and didn't seem botherd that they were interfering or knowing what the other staff member was doing.
Please if you are going to charge what you are charging for food please train your staff properly it was less than impressive you so easily gave had 5 stars but your staff let you down.
Safety: Safety of actually not being hit by a corked bottle being opend in a fashion...
Food and drinks: Food was lovely well worth going very spacious to sit and eat
Noteworthy details: Staff need training for.proper service it was shoddy.
