I was a bit dubious but no need to worry the treatment for my cataracts was excellent. I had both eyes done and never had a problem at all. Staff were excellent and I would recommend optical express anytime

An excellent service. The analysis of my specific eye requires were dealt with quickly and effectively. The potential outcomes for cataract surgery were carefully and explicitly explained by both optometrist and surgeon. Surgery was very quickly arranged and proved to be a very professional and reassuring procedure. Despite having additional eye problems as well as cataracts the results have been fantastic. I would recommend this company!

Very helpful and professional staff at Carlisle and Newcastle but overall a very disappointing lens replacement experience and outcome at present. Aftercare at Carlisle has been supportive, so hoping this will be resolved by further laser treatment- will update rating hopefully when eyesight improved.

I had some issues following my procedure and I found the staff in the Carlise facility to be most attentative and supportive. I was well looked after and all issues were overcome,leaving me with much improved sight and no more need for glasses. Shaun Armstrong Clinic Manager took personal interest ensuring I was looked after and receiving all necessary after care treatment. My wife is now having the procedure and I have no hesitation in recommending Optical Express Carlisle and Shaun in particular. I had laser eye surgery mid August at Newcastle but visited the Carlisle clinic for all pre/post appointments. The team at Carlisle have been great and a special mention to Shaun who?s been really professional, friendly, helpful and very accommodating throughout.I would highly recommend Optical Express to those looking to for laser eye surgery. My vision is now 20/20 in one eye and even better in the other. Everything was explained clearly throughout all appointments, so I knew what to expect before, during and after surgery.The actual surgery itself was uncomfortable rather than painful. After sleeping for a few hours my discomfort eased and in a matter of weeks my eyes have healed and I no longer need to wear glasses.During the free consultation I was given a quote for the surgery which is the exact fee I paid upon having surgery.

I have recently been signed off further to having laser surgery with Optical Express. I can?t believe I haven?t done this sooner, it?s changed my life. I work on a farm and I no longer have to worry about a contact flying out or breaking yet another pair of glasses. My confidence is growing too. Thank you to the lads in Carlisle. They have been outstanding from first meet. Great banter and they will do anything to help you out and put you at ease. WHY have I not done this sooner, I would recommend surgery to anyone from one very happy customer ???

I was diagnosed at Carlisle infirmary as having cataracts and was put on the NHS waiting list however as my driving was being affected I decided to go private and approached optical express in Carlisle who confirmed my problem After several tests I was advised not to drive and I was referred to Dr Teenan in their Glasgow surgery for the cataract removal at a cost of £2500. After further tests Dr Teenan refused the operation saying that the removal of the cataract would not improve my driving ability. The operation has now been carried out by Dr Strong at the Nuffield Hospital Newcastle without question and I now have 20 20 vision and can read car numbers beyond the 25 yard requirement making me a legal driver no thanks to optical express exactly the same experience of Lauren Hardon. They cannot be trusted Even when I contacted them about my disappointment and told them Dr Strong was willing to carry out my operation all they could say was Don't hold your hopes up after what Dr Teenan said.

All the staff are friendly and polite. However, They said I was eligible for treatment then sent me to Glasgow for further scans. They then said I wasn?t. They didn?t warn me that this was a potential with my prescription and really got my hopes up. Please in the future warn people that there is a possibility it can?t happen
