Unhelpful staff in Carlisle branch.

Handy Hobby Craft just off the M6. Friendly staff, good stock. I'm not sure why but the carpark seems to render people brain-dead.

I was ID checked and ultimately refused service, which felt quite excessive given that it's a Challenge 25 policy, not Challenge 45. I have grey hair and wrinkles! I understand the need for policies to protect people, but this felt more like an unnecessary inconvenience than a genuine safeguard. Unfortunately, the staff member who served me was quite rude, no apology, just abrupt and dismissive because I didn?t have ID. I know retail can be tough, but that doesn?t excuse poor customer service. It?s disappointing, especially since the staff are usually so friendly, so it's a shame one bad experience can tarnish that.

Staff are so helpful. Went in for gender reveal balloons and they pointed in right direction, blew the balloons up and were amazing

Didn't get the names of the two members of staff who helped me download the store's app this morning. They both went above and beyond to assist me today. So helpful and patient. Saved me £14! Will definitely shop there again!

Go here every now and then with my partner. Usually a pleasant enough experience. Was not happy however, being ID?d for a pair of scissors when I as a 30 years old man turn up with a full beard and my work uniform on. The other colleague literally laughed when I was asked to show ID. There is such a thing as too extreme, isn?t it challenge 25?

I had a lovely experience today in the hobbycraft carlisle store. I came in looking for some fabric for a crafting project, and the lady upstairs was so accommodating and listened to my request even though I had no idea what I was doing (so sorry I didn't ask your name, but I remember your cat's names!). We had such a great chat and it really brightened my day!
The lady at the till was also really accommodating and helped me find some paint.

Can't fault at all, nice big selection and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The car park is a little strange to get into but there is nothing Hobbycraft can do about that.
