Can only give three Stars , middle of the road really.
Don't let that be a statement about the place . It looks fab.
We didn't have enough time to fully immerse ourselves within the thousands of books , stacked and shelved in rooms and alcoves ,the mere walking around and the thrill of possibly stumbling on a great read is why we arrived here.
It's a book worm's paradise.
Dog friendly and food is served too, what more could one ask.
The staff are immensely friendly.
We will return at some point I'm sure ..

floors & rooms galore of second hand & antiquarian books plus shhet music. it has a good sit in cafe and a toilet

This is a great book shop, combining secondhand (Bookcase) and new (Bookends) stock, and a cafe. The second-hand rooms are a delightful labyrinth. They also have a lot of vinyl records especially classical, though these aren't at bargain prices.

Amazing huge used bookshop with a warren of passages and little rooms. It can take a while to find your way out ?They almost certainly have what you want, but as it is not catalogued, the challenge is to find it!

Knowledgeable staff, great selection of books and an enormous (and reasonably priced) second hand section. The adjoining café is well worth a visit too. A trip to Bookcase is a must whenever I'm in Carlisle!

This bookshop is a must visit to any book lovers. It's a treasure trove of both new and old books, with anything from sport, nature, mythology, music, and even comics. Every time I visit I find a new room filled with different titles
