Went into the Carlisle branch on Monday 11th following fraud on a family members account and George and Ellie were fantastic! They helped sort everything out and took steps to prevent further problems. They both made me feel reassured and gave advice going forward. This is not the first time George has helped my family, thank you so much. A very grateful customer.

Do not take credit out with this bank. Their customer service is shocking. I never received a decision on an application 3 month later even though a hard search was done. Local branch can only provide an application reference but no timeline as to when my application will be processed. No one on the phone seems to care and even though I've been informed in branch my application is still being processed I've been repeatedly told by the team on the phone to make a new application without knowing the outcome of my current application? So do another hard search for what purpose? To have the same outcome? They keep assuming I have been rejected. I've had literally no communication and no one has the authority to check. Told severeal times i can't speak to management. Seriously poor customer service. Not cared for at all unless you bank with them. Avoid!

Went into Barclays Branch today, I have been a member since 1962,
I notice the dress code for senior figures, and some staff, are like down and outs , Manager in charge wearing trainers, another colleague shirt hanging out , I queried the Manager no ID, but one female member was very smart, always is , do I really want to invest with this lot? I expect bank staff to be SMARTLY dressed , it tells me everything about them. I have other High St
Bank accounts , but they are smartly dressed, Barclays staff said they have to dress same as the customers ??? Say no more

You can only cash machines here. I usually use the app to confirm who I am when I dont have my card at all the other Barclays branches. If you need money in an emergency (like did) do not use this bank as you will not be served!

Not an option for 0 stars. Went today to attempt to open an account for our sixteen year old child. They already have a savings account there and parents that bank there also. Was told by a female worker it would be a half hour wait to see somebody. Someone came before this time. A male employee came holding a laptop. I explained what we wished to do. I was told it could not be done there and then. It was eight weeks for an appointment. We were told to do telephone banking. It is okay they said it only took me twenty minutes to open one for my daughter. That's if you can get an appointment. The earliest telephone banking appointment was the 24/8/2023. No wonder branches are closing. I feel sorry for the Dumfries bankers who will find this branch their local bank. My advice bank elsewhere. Our child has seen sense and has an appointment next week in a local branch that isn't Barclays. Not everyone wants to use apps or telephone banking. Customer relations are key which are sadly lacking in this branch. It tells you something the opening and closing times are changing on the 7/8/2023. I am sure it won't be long before this branch closes.

We visited today whilst in the area and needed support with an existing account. It really appears to be too much effort for any staff to actually turn a computer on and help. We were told it would be quicker to ring the helpline than wait. Very disappointing.

We will not get early appointment in any kind of situation. I tried to open account via app. For Address verification i tried to took an appointment and they told nearest appointment is after 40 days!!

Absolutely disgusted with the so called "service" at Barclays Carlisle today. All I wanted was to order a new cheque book. Last time I tried on the app and phone with no joy.Today ....wait for personal banker or phone!!! I worked at Barclays for almost 20 years and customer service was key in those days. Moving my account tomorrow!!
