We were taken here by friends and had heard many good things about the place - well we were DEFINITELY NOT disappointed as the food was FABULOUS and the venue enchanting. Service was AMAZING. I think we will be back ??wish we had been before!,

My wife and I dined here last night to celebrate both her birthday and the birth of our son. We had the tasting menu which consisted of 10 delicious courses. My wife enjoyed the mocktails on offer while, I had had the wine pairing. Szandra came and explained all about the wines that I would be having throughout the evening and how they paired with each meal. Each one was perfect with the food. I also have a nut allergy which they catered for with no problems. The service was excellent with emails before we even got there, to the explanations of ingredients in each course for me. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for helping us celebrate.

Quiet village pub with a Michelin star heart. We walked in and felt very welcome. We decided to try the 10 course taster menu. Absolutely blown away by the food. Everything was perfect! The herb fed chicken with mushroom purée and their take on a coronation croquette were worth a mention from the main courses. The poached apricot with peach liquor and apricot iced cream was hands down the nicest dessert ever!
100% worth a visit. Excellent value for money for what you get.

Genuinely cannot rate the D&G Skelton highly enough! The food is outstanding - generous, indulgent and hearty portions of goodness! Really great selection of drinks as well. The standout however is the small but mighty team who are truly excellent. We?ve been a few times and have booked to go again, highly recommended. It was also (for us) very reasonably priced given how much food you get on the tasting menu!

Lovely pub with a great tasting menu. The wine pairing was particularly good, the standout was a Spanish vermouth with the tiramisu. Dog friendly was a real bonus.

What a superb place! My wife and I visited for our 9th Wedding Anniversary and for my Wife's Birthday.
I'm a very fussy eater but every course on the tasting menu was absolutely divine!
It was my first visit to a Michelin restaurant and we were extremely pleased with our visit. We will visit again!

Amazing Michelin starred food in a homely and relaxed country pub setting. Tasting menu is one of the best I've ever had and the a la carte is great if you're not so hungry, and each is served with the best bread course I've ever had. Perfect cocktails too.

Wonderful meal to celebrate our pearl anniversary, complimentary glass of fizz to start (thank you). Everything was delicious from start to finish and a box of petit fours to take home. They certainly deserve their Michelin star. Three course meal for £69 very reasonable for the quality of the food. We pre-booked a dog friendly table.
We ate souffle and pasta for starters, hogget for main & tart and creme brulee for dessert.

Really enjoyed a recent meal here for a birthday celebration. Nice old style pub with amazing food and service. Highly recommend the venison pudding and scallops! Look forward to coming back soon

Had the tasting menu with wine pairing on Saturday night. Generally, I think tasting menus have had their day. I don't particularly want a 5 minute explanation of my food and wine every time a new tiny course arrives.
Dog and Gun have clearly realised this, the wines were explained before we started and the food was allowed to speak for itself.
Every course and every wine was delicious, there was not one thing that we didn't all thoroughly enjoy.
The pace of meal, the very relaxed and friendly service was a match for the excellent food. Price point for this quality was also spot on.
Sadly we're not local to the area, but I would definitely travel again to go to this lovely restaurant.

We had a lovely evening. The food was amazing the only slight feedback we had was with the smoked potato terrine course we found this quite bland and unsure if the blackcurrant matched with the coldness of the potato. Other than that everything was delicious my favourite was steamed cod loin.
