Excellent, just excellent. Food quality, service, and atmosphere all top tier. Food portions are huge, the best burger and chips I've ever had.Prices are very fair. You would not get food of this quality at this price in any city.If you are in the area, this place is a must.Nearby activities: Plenty of hiking nearby, forest, mountains, and river walks. The pub is set in a beautiful valley in the lake district.Walkability: In quite a remote area of the lakes. A car is the easiest way to accessFood & drinks: Excellent! Full marks to the chef ???. Top quality ingredients and good portion sizes. Perfect after a days hiking!Noteworthy details: It was quiet when I was there but in the summer it might be wise to book a table as the place is quite small.

Lovely cosy pub, nice atmosphere. Great service. Excellent food and a varied menu. We had mulled wine and pheasant burgers which were gorgeous, locally sourced.

Had Sunday lunch here. Nice pub food, nothing fancy but good after a walk. Had a drink and a chat to the friendly barman. Old school pub well worth visiting if you are in the area.

A real gem. Don't miss the Grilled Gammon or Homemade Beef & Ale Pie. If you go to only one pub in the area, make sure this is it!Food & drinks: Awesome.

Lovely friendly Inn with excellent food but the beer is only average and tends to go flat after a few sips.

We happened upon this place when camping nearby (Moss Side Farm) what a brilliant find it was, food was cooked brilliantly, large portions of truly lovely homemade, satisfying food. I had the steak pie, this can only be described as a slab of beef in pastry, fantastic!!

Good food and friendly staff.Restaurant booking is recommended during peak season. The bar will also sell you milk, cheese, and butter if you are camping and need supplies.Walkability: A short walk from Turner Hall CampsiteFood & drinks: Great meals and local beersNoteworthy details: At the foot of several good walks in the lake district. Including the walna scar path, leading to Dow crag and the old man of Coniston.

Amazing pub grub - excellent pie and chips at the end of a stunning walk through the Duddon Valley!

Nice friendly atmosphere. Terrible food. Seriously, my scampi and chips looked and tasted like it had been leftover by someone who had ordered the same as myself then used to feed me, all just fried up again. There was 2 ladies eating the larger portions of the same meal half an hour before me and it looked nothing like mine. I'm aware of this practice in some kitchens and appeared to me that that's what mine was! Also, our group had pie, it was super dry! Really, the only pub around do limited choice but we won't be returning - we can all certainly cook and bake far far better ourselves. Disgusting.

6 of us went on Saturday night. Bar staff recommended the chicken, ham and leak pie on the specials when we asked at the bar and 5 of us ordered that. We were not disappointed, it was excellent! The beer was good too, a nice few smooth light beers on cask. Good choice of soft drinks too. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely welcoming atmosphere in the pub. Hope to return on our next visit to the lakes.

Brilliant hidden gem in Seatwhaite. A walkers paradise. Super friendly staff, delicious food, decent selection of beers and ales, reasonably priced. Very relaxed atmosphere...did I say super friendly staff? This cannot be stated enough!
