We were married at the Ryebeck in 2015. It was wonderful. We have returned every year for our anniversary. We even managed during the pandemic. Alas, the hotel is closed and we were unable to book in 2022. Come back please Ryebeck, we miss you ?

I booked a room for my family of 4 for July 2022. The booking was made in February 2022. I got an email yesterday that they have canceled my booking. No explanation was given. We are flying in from another country and have small kids. It is a multiple city trip and the available hotels are few and far between. I would have appreciated if they did not take our booking in the first place so that we could have booked another hotel for cheaper price. Now I have to pay extra. I also went on their website and they show that they are fully booked for the month of July!! It is entirely possible that they canceled our booking to give those rooms for a higher price. If this is true then they are dishonest and not to be trusted.

On arrival we had the best welcome you could ask for ! Beautiful room over looking Windermere and only a few minutes walk to the shore. You can then walk into Bowness on a tarmac path. The restaurants look ok but we can assure you the best food you will find is in this restaurant! Excellent produce and skill produce food that is way above what you would expect. We would highly recommend this hotel !!!!

Really disappointed. Looked forward to weekend away with my toddler and wife. Room pics on website smaller than reality. We stayed in Room 22, small. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was not a gray experience. Male waiter looked stressed, not very welcoming. Double espresso was okay not the best. Wife asked for well done eggs as she was pregnant, chef totally ignored request, and came back with runny eggs. Booked directly with hotel and quoted £224. Upon checkout, female staff, not welcoming, wanted to charge £249. Showed her my email and upon a 5 min discussion, agreed to reduce to £225?!?! Even though email stated £224. Her attitude wasn?t great. The whole experience was unfortunately, below par. Shame really. Unfortunately won?t be coming back.

A lovely country-house hotel on the outskirts of Bowness-on-Windermere. Location, the stay, staff, cleanliness and the food were exemplary making our mini-honeymoon a memorable trip! We had the ground-floor Superior room with a door that lead to the gorgeous views of the garden expanse and peek hole views of the lake Windermere. Waking up in the morning to the view as well as a Cuppa at the rustic garden table was just one of the highlights of the trip. Must tries: Their afternoon tea has a modern but much appreciated rendition to the classic version. Their fish & chips is another definite foodie high point. Low points: Very few to note but the reason for missing out on 5 stars. The building is slightly run down and it can be evident in certain places. The bathroom door in our room (room number 2) occasionally got stuck at the handle. Paint peeling off, poorly located charging points are some of the other drawbacks. Nevertheless, it was a lovely experience worth repeating even more so after their extended renovation due November this year till next July tentatively. Also a shout-out to Timi, who served us quite well and made the experience even more delightful.

Just returned from our favourite hotel in the Lakes. Have been coming here for 28 or 29 years. Sometimes it has disappointed us, but not a lot. Why do we keep coming back? because it has a great ambience, it's value for money, the staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. During our recent stay we were told it is closing ?, but, just for 6 months as it is getting a refurb. Phew, that's a relief! It is our happy place in the beautiful Lake District and we will never go any where else. Can't wait to return next June.

Love everything about this hotel! The view, the foods, the friendly staff, the location and the cleanliness of this hotel! We booked two rooms - The Grand (No. 12 and its the biggest one for our parents) and Superb room (no 31 on the 2nd floor overlooking the lake - amazing view)

I really enjoyed staying here with the most beautiful view into the garden and amazing bathroom. I also want to say thank you for Helena for going out of her way to send a valuable item back to me which I had left in the room. I really appreciate your amazing service and help.

spent are honeymoon here was great came back for 10th anniversary and its changed not much food choice on menu. Rooms expensive dead bugs in light and damp on walls and mattresses very hard. Plus £11 for a shot of auchentoshan whisky its way to expensive. They still have great views around grounds and great area to stay

A lovely old fashioned hotel with lake views. Our ground floor room even had a private terrace. Great dinner and breakfast. Certainly not cheap but worth the price.

We stayed at the Ryebeck for 2 nights. We found the hotel to be clean and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The manageress was excellent. Our rooms were comfortable and a good size. Would stay again
