Went on Sunday 30 September because it's advertised as open. When I got there having driven 8 miles I found it locked and no lights on. This was around 1 o'clock.

I bought some shoes last week, 2 identical pairs for my twin boys . The lady that fitted them was lovely and very helpful and friendly.
After we got home and my son tried on his shoes, he was finding them uncomfortable. We found a more suitable pair of shoes for him elsewhere, so my thoughts were, that I would return the unworn shoes of his brothers and keep the pair that he had tried and found uncomfortable for his brother who found them comfortable!
I came to return the completely unworn shoes this morning and realised that unfortunately I didn?t have the receipt. Not ideal, but I thought I?d take them back and see what they could do. The shoes were completely unworn and had all labels on and were inside the box (as new, not touched!) I was flatly told ?No, you need the receipt for me to scan? I explained that I could show them my bank statement, which showed that I bought them in that store and all the transaction details/amount. I was told ?No, you have to have the receipt.? I asked if I could perhaps get a credit note so that I could choose something at a later date and was told ?No!? I could tell I wasn?t going to get anywhere so I calmly said ok nevermind thanks, then I called customer services to see if they could do anything, and spoke to a helpful lady who told me to go in to the store and as long as I could show my bank statement, I would be refunded for the shoes. She told me to stay on the phone so she could speak to the manager, which is who I was dealing with. When I returned to the store and explained what the customer services lady told me, the manager instantly said ?Ok, I?ll see what I can pull up on the system.? And that she didn?t need to speak with the customer services lady on the phone, she explained that they were a franchise and that it may cause issues on their system. And then miraculously she was able to give me a refund! She went on again to explain how it was a franchise (non of my business and frankly I don?t care.) and then upon giving me my refund I politely said ?thank you? and she said ?we?ll just have to see what flashes up on the system now.? Negatively! As if it was a big issue that they?d have to deal with!
It took a few minutes to refund me.
The manager couldn?t have been more unhelpful and clearly begrudged giving me the refund instead of just getting on with it and being pleasant with a customer. I?ve shopped here countless times for my children, but it will most certainly be my last!

Clarks Barrow in Furness. Dont know what I would do without this shop. They are just amazing. We go regularly for shoes. My Daughter is autistic and nothing was a problem. Especially today as she wasnt in the best mood. We pre booked out appointment and were greeted by the lovely manager. Nothing was too much trouble. Service from start to finish was just fantastic. Thank you .Clarks Barrow

We ordered shoes online and they were delivered to the store within two days and the staff were helpful even though we did not buy them at the store

Popped in to have a look at boots ,found staff quite rude. I was asked to sanitize my hands on entrance. The other family who entered after were not .I was also stared at continuously during my visit. I will stick to the lancaster store for my custom where staff are more friendly and helpful

Took my elderly father who is in a wheelchair to get fitted for some slippers. The lovely assistant Sandra was so friendly and helpful was a lovely experience will definitely be back.

I took my daughter to fit her first school shoes in mid August and the sales consultant we saw was nice, and patient. However, I got the distinct impression they just wanted to fit what they had in stock, even when these were not the most suitable, and I had no problem with ordering better alternatives (ie something more hard wearing for a 4 year old who is rough on her shoes). When I collected the shoes I ended up ordering, a different sales consultant made an inappropriate, sarcastic remark directed at me ?changing my mind? when I didn?t want to purchase what the shop deemed as most suitable for my child. I?ll choose Lancaster or another store next time.
