I?m the singer in a band called Funbus. We were invited to play at The Pheasant Inn White Dog beer festival on Friday 22nd August 2025. From the moment we arrived the venue was brilliant. Superb stage area and sound technician. Peter the Landlord came out to welcome us. What a Gentleman he is. The garden and pub were buzzing with folk. We had a couple of amazing beers then hit the stage. What a reception from the crowd. By the end of the night the whole place was bouncing. Peter couldn?t have been more attentive. The pub was amazing, the food was sublime and the beer exceptional. Can?t wait to go back. Thanks guys!

Stayed At Kitty's Place for 3 Nights.. Very Comfortable.. Situated about 9 Miles outside of Carlisle..Great as Base for our weekend stay and just head out for a walk.Then back for a Hearty Dinner.The Staff were very Helpful and Friendly. The Scallop and Black Pudding Started was delicious as was the Lamb Sunday Roast. was Delicious..

Very nice food and service, too many dogs for us. Presumably their owners don't notice the smell, but would put us off going again. Shame as apart from that all good.

Family dinner with husband, son and wife and grandchildren. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. A very pleasant evening. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing food and very friendly and attentive staff. We stayed in the cottage next door which was a perfect respite on a long journey. Peter went the extra mile to send on lost property which was much appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Gem of a place. 15mins from M6 but a world away in the country. Stylish but not pretentious. Food is outstanding. Fillet steak was so succulent. Perfectly cooked. Béarnaise and Peppercorn sauces delicious (not the same time!). Sautéed potatoes amazing. Sticky toffee pudding was so soft and fresh. Staff were lovely - friendly, polite, attentive. Owners popped over to say hi. Could see return customers which is a good sign too. Such a good place!

Exceptional food, service and facilities.
Visited today for a wedding sit down meal, 3 beautifully presented courses which were all super tasty and I'm sure great value too.
I know they source excellent local ingredients too, which is an added bonus. ?

Stayed in the cottages next door and had a lovely evening at the pub, sitting in the sun and then came inside as they were having a quiz.
The haddock was very nice and the sticky toffee pudding was one of the top 3 ever in my friend's (very detailed) rating system.
